I purchased an airline ticket on Alaska Airlines from Expedia. When I could not check in online, I called what I thought was Expedia and was told by the person named "Romm" who answered the phone that my ticket was a stand-by ticket, and I needed to pay an extra $396.00 to guarantee a seat. Because it was an emergency, I paid it. "Romm" actually gave me his number to call back if there was any problem. When I received my credit card bill, the $396 was charged by a company called "Air Tickets." When I checked the phone numbers provided for this company, the first one was for an individual in North Carolina, and the second one was no longer in service. There was no website for this company. I called Expedia and was told they had no record of my call or additional charge. They also said their agents never provide return phone numbers. Air Tickets is a scam.
