I applied to a job posting on LinkedIn under a business name of Star Streams LLC that was supposedly for an accounting position. After I applied, I got an invite to a group webinar immediately. When I attended, a pre-recorded video played of a person selling everyone a "license" to be a travel agent, now presenting as company name "BWJ Travel." The scammer made lots of promises of commissions, supposedly earning thousands of dollars every week by being a "travel agent" and booking expensive vacations for their customers. They played a few videos of their supposed other agents advocating for others to subscribe to their licensing program, which costs about $400.00 a year, though it was clear some of those "people" were AI generated, and the ones who might've been real were reading off a script. In short, I applied for an accounting position, and instead got a sales pitch to buy a fake travel agent license.
