I was contacted by this company indicating they were a law firm had a a breach of contract for non payment regarding a JC Penny account that had not been paid. I indicated that I had not had the account for over several years and had paid a debt collector already about the account that I still disputed I owed any money. The femaie representative, Sarah, became belligerent and stated that I would have to let attorneys in South Carolina take me to court; I was contacted 3 days later by Kevin from the same company stating the same issue. I asked for a case number and his name which was Kevin. I said I would not do anything without first reviewing my records and those from JCPenny. The representative, Kevin, indicated that I owed over $2,000 but I could pay $507.05 to have the issue resolved out of court. I was approached a third time from representative Tim regarding the matter; he left a phone message. However, the phone number is being identified as a Benson, NC number, although the previous callers stated their firm was in South Carolina. I contact JC Penny headquarters; their customer representative stated that my account was so long ago that they removed it from their files. She believed that I had been and was continuing to be scammed. She strongly recommended that I report the incident to the Better Business Bureau.
