Description

I was approached with a job offer that appears to be a pyramid scheme. I underwent 1st and 2nd round interviews. The 1st interview was conducted via zoom and was a group interview. The 2nd interview was conducted in person by Mahdi Ali. I was offered a 3rd round interview the same day as the 2nd but rejected it once I did some research into my suspicion. Here is how it was explained by Mahdi Ali: I would start at the Entry Level for 2 to 4 weeks learning outside sales and marketing, and doing door-to-door sales for Verizon Inc. Next, I would be promoted to Account manager for 4 to 8 months managing 4 to 6 Entry level recruits and conduct 2nd round interviews for new potential recruits. Then promoted to Assistant Director for 2 to 3 months learning HR, Finance, accounting, banking, conducting 1st and 3rd round interviews. Finally, I would be promoted to Director of Operations (all promotions would happen in 6 to 12 months) running my own branch office as well as doing everything thing I would have been doing in the other roles. The promotion rate seemed too fast to me. Durning the interview I was told I would be paid up to $180 per day based on commission however $100 of that would be taken by upper management for "expenses." My research source is redit.com direct from a former employee stating the management team was abusive and the job described by the recruiter is not what they were asked to do.
