Description

My computer had an alert that said to not to turn off the computer and to call 1-800-330-7344.for Microsoft Windows Support. The screen was fully blocked and there was no way to exit that screen. Once I called the number, a man with an Indian (India) accent told me someone got my IP address and that he was going to help me fix it. While talking the call was dropped. I tried calling back and while the phone was ringing I got a call from a California number (1-805-330-7344). When I answered the call, he said it was the same person from the initial contact person. (Microsoft Windows Support). It sounded like the same person so he said our call was cut off. Then he proceeded to continue to help me fix my computer by asking me to go through some steps and entering in some security codes. The call was dropped once again. Then he called me back from another number that said it was from Florida (1-321-234-7047). I asked if his name was Adam B and he stated that it was. I asked him where he was and he said Washington. I said Washington state but he did not answer. Then I asked him about the different numbers he was calling from. He said that he works for Microsoft and they have different numbers. Then after several attempts he finally gave me a code to enter onto my computer and then told me to restart the computer, that's when my normal screen came back. He also said that my computer would act like it was new again because during our conversation he asked me what kind of computer was I using and I told him it was a desktop HP and that it was old. He wanted the model number but I did not know it. So he asked me what kinds of thing do I do on the computer, and I told him just basic browsing. He then began to ask me if I shopped online, I answered yes. He asked me if I looked at porn, I thought that was strange but I told him no, I did not. After all that, he said he believed someone had got my IP address and made some fraudulent charges, which was true. Then he started asking about my credit card and debit cards. Then I really began to get upset and started asking him who he was and who did he work for. And he made the same reply. Then he asked me how many bank accounts and how many banks do I bank with and how much money were in them. By this time I started yelling and told him it was none of his business. He even wanted me to go get my last statement to give him answer. I refused so he then asked me if I knew approximately how much. I was yelling and kept asking him who he was. After all this time we had been talking for 60-63 minutes total time from all he phone calls. I then told him I was done answering his questions and I hung up.
