On February 29. 2024 I hired online company to create a website for me and on March 8, 2024 I hired them to create a logo for my company. The company was Custom Design Genius ( email [email protected] (949) 610-6039. My issue is mid June I received a call from Custom Design Genius requesting that I pay them $1800 to file for trademark for the logo I had them design and paid them $119 for. There was no agreement for this additional service and no other terms other than I hired them to create a logo for a fee. I am now getting threatening text from someone claiming to be their legal counsil demanding I take down the image or be subject to lawsuit. I researched number and it comes up as a scam. The number I am receiving threatening text from is (510) 270-4780. I believe that custom design genius is trying to extort money from me for a service I never agreed too and unlawfully trying to defraud me of $1800.
