Multiple calls recieved from multiple phone numbers. Frequently the message states my name in the wrong order, uses wrong initials. There is an obvious pause in the message where the robot inserts the name in the script. My understanding is EMP legal group buys old debt that is beyond statute of limitations for collection for pennies on the dollar and then illegally tries to collect on that debt, using the subterfuge that if you contact them back, you reset the debt as current. I don't have any unpaid debt, and never have, so not sure if they got someone with the same name and are just trying to collect from me. They do NOT operate in the same manner and with the same legal requirements as authorized debt collectors.
