I saw a Facebook ad about discounted Sketchers shoe products. I clicked on the link from the ad and was directed to orthosandal.com. On May 11, I purchased two pairs of shoes from the website for a total of $85.97, and was sent an email from "[email protected]" confirming the order. Site and email both looked legitimate except for inconsistent email address. On May 15, I reached out to the scammer at the aforementioned email address to ask when I would receive my order. In response, they gave me a tracking number (AT404068812CN) to track on a tracking website (www.17track.net/en). In retrospect, this email was highly suspicious, and the tracking number yielded no results when put into the website. The scammer and I emailed back and forth, with the scammer insisting that the order had already shipped, providing fake screenshots as evidence. Early last week, when I returned to www.17track.net/en to check the tracking number again, it claimed that my package had already been delivered 12 days prior. The website started a chat with a fake customer support staff, who said they would assist me if I paid a $1 fee. I refused. Last Friday (June 7), I emailed the scammer about this incident, and the scammer told me to "expect the package in 1 to 2 days." On Monday (June 10), the scammer emailed me again to say that the package had been delivered. However, the package had still not arrived. They instructed me to ask my neighbors whether the package had accidentally been delivered to them, or to visit a post office and ask about it. Yesterday (June 12), I went to my local post office to confirm whether it had ever been delivered. My local post office said that there was absolutely no record of the scammer delivering a package to me.
