So I get a call a couple days ago from some girl claiming to be my bank and credit union trying to tell me that fraud has been detected on my card for over 900 dollars at a target in Texas and if that was me, I replied with a no. The girl then said that she locked my debit card and froze my accounts (she didn’t) and proceeded to ask me for my account password to verify that it was me. Then a day later, I get another call from a man stating the same thing but I missed the call and when I called the number back it went to voicemail but the number was linked to a google voice number since it had a google voicemail and he then called me back immediately stating he was from my credit union and I told him yeah no your not, and then proceeded to tell me that he detected fraud on my card and I told him yeah, credit unions don’t use a google voice number as a phone and he stated that his “company’s” phone are down and had to transfer all calls to another system and I just kept saying yeah you are not apart of a credit union at all and then his demeanor switched and he laughed and said, “ we got you already *****” and I just hung up the phone. No money was taken but this happened more than once and all numbers came from Texas.
