I advertised a car for sale on craigslist. The scammer contacted me and said they were interested in purchasing the vehicle. They said before they would do so I needed to have a vehicle history report run and they provided me a website to use. it was called tarheelcarhistory.com. Which took me to a website for Car history research. The website was called national motor vehicle title information system. It had all the correct information about my car. Detailed. Seemed legit. I made the purchase for my vehicle. Something made me realize at this point than The Texter may not be legit. I told him when I saw a picture of the cashiers check for the vehicle that I would send him a copy of the vehicle history report. Never heard back from him again.
