Description

I was looking on CareerBuilder for a job. Several remote positions popped up, so I applied. I got responses from 3 companies for virtual interviews. The first one was an insurance company Globe Life. I was instructed to attend a virtual meeting where they would go over the job, requirements etc., I attended the webinar and I must say, it was quite impressive with an actual person doing the presentation, It was only maybe about 15 minutes, I am not a salesperson, so this was not the job for me It seemed like a pyramid scheme though based on the pay scales. Turns out after a little research, that's exactly what it was. The 2nd interview was done through Teams application. Person's name was Lawrence Moore. His email address is [email protected]. This was quite lengthy. I actually did two of these "text interviews" simultaneously with the 3rd company, HEAL Securities Inc. That interviewers name is Galbraith Martinez. I actually got suspicious not only from the starting pay, but when both interviewers were using the same verbiage and same interview questions. I continued to answer their questions while I pulled up both company websites. I wanted to see their open jobs and neither one had the position I was applying for. At the end of the interview for HEAL Securities Inc. they asked if I had an IDMe id and that I would need to provide them with my email address and password and that I could change the password when we were done. I said that was federal information and I was not giving it out. POOF the guy was gone, The guy for Compass Group so far has gone all the way to I got the job and will be getting my package soon. When I asked how long, he didn't say. The interview ended last night 3/20 and picked up again this morning. He then advised me that I would be receiving a check for the laptop and software etc. He said when I receive the check to deposit it in my bank account and send him the deposit slip showing the deposit. And then he said he was going to send me the check thru email and I was to print it out and then do a mobile deposit to my bank. I stalled for time while trying to call the bank on the check to verify funds but was unable to. I made up a story that it would be 1-5 days before I could physically get the money. And then told him I got a pop-up window saying to call the bank. He was getting impatient so then I let the hammer drop and told him I found out this was fraudulent and notified local authorities. It's really a shame that this type of thing happens still. I do have screenshots of both Compass and HEAL conversations as well as a copy of the check and back of the check if needed.
