I received 2 calls on separate dates, both from the following number: (225)267-4959. I do not answer unfamiliar numbers, and could think of no legitimate reason to get a call from Baton Rouge, so did not answer either attempt. The subject of their voicemails (transcribed below), ******* *******, could either be my father-in-law or my husband (******* ***). Sidenote: I still have a New Orleans-based cell phone number, though I haven’t lived there in years; so, my spam often has Louisiana area codes. This has helped me to detect less sophisticated scams more easily. The 1st call was on 3/1/2024, 9:44 a.m. Voicemail transcript: “We are making an attempt to deliver legal documents to ******* * ******* if you are the defendant or know this person please have them contact the issuing firm that is handling the case immediately to not jeopardize missing important court documentation their phone number is 888-270-9142 or you can call this number back failing to contact the issuing firm will result in further legal proceedings to take place you have been notified…” The second call was on 3/8, 5:12 p.m. Voicemail transcript: “Deliver legal documents to ******* * ******* if you are the defendant or know this person please have them contact the issuing firm that is handling the case immediately to not jeopardize missing important court documentation their phone number is 888-270-9142 or you can call this number back failing to contact the issuing firm or result in further legal proceedings to take place you have been notified…”
