Description

An individual named Charlotte Hughes contacted out church Office Manager via email with: "Hello, How are you doing? I am looking to give away my late husband's Yamaha baby grand piano to a passionate instrument lover, so please let me know if you will take it or have someone who will care for it. Regards, Charlotte Hughes." As the music pastor I reached out to explain that we would like to acquire it for our school of music if that was acceptable. "Charlotte" responded: "Hi *****, Thanks for your response, the Yamaha Baby Grand Piano GC1 model used to be owned and played by my husband who passed away last year, the dimension is "151cm by 146cm". It was last tuned sometime last year before he passed. She's about 2 years old and in impeccable condition. And yes, I'm trying to reachout to people, organizations, schools or music studios for anyone interested in rehoming a Yamaha baby grand piano. As long as it's a passionate instrument lover who will care for it. I'm moving my properties to another place and I don't think my husband will be happy if I sell this piano, at the same time, I am settling for a home with less space, so I'm hoping to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument. I wasn't going to leave it alone in an empty house. The Piano is currently in storage with the movers I employed to move my properties from my house. The movers can deliver anywhere. However, the beneficiary has to pay moving costs. In the attachment are the pictures of the Piano, I look forward to your reply if you are interested, if not I can contact someone else. Regards, Hughes." I reached out to say that I was indeed interested. She responded: "*****, You need to contact the movers and make an arrangement as regards the moving process. I would like you to take some pictures/videos when they arrive at your address. Here is the mover's information: ([email protected]) just let them know that Mrs. Charlotte Hughes, referred you with the Reference Code: SEIL132PH. Make sure you send an email for a faster response. Most importantly, provide your delivery address for a delivery quote. Once you are in touch with the movers kindly also let me know so that I can sign off the piano. Thanks, Hughes." I reached out to the movers with the necessary information. They responded with the following: "ATTENTION: *****, Please find below the estimated cost for delivery to your location. * Referral ID: (SEIL132PH) * Item/Name: Yamaha Baby Grand Piano * Item/Package Weight: 574lbs * Dimensions: Length 5' 1" (151 cm), Width 5" (146cm)" * Item Provider: Mrs. Charlotte Hughes. I expressed a desire to go with one of the methods and copied our Business Manager in the email. I emailed Charlotte to let her know where we were in the process. She replied: "Great! I look forward to seeing the pictures/videos of the piano from you when they arrive. You should also check your email folder (Spam) for their messages, I sometimes find mine there too. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks, Hughes." I then received an email from the movers: "Dear *****, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out to confirm whether you are ready to proceed with the payment for the delivery. If so, we are prepared to provide you with the necessary payment details promptly. Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you're ready to finalize the payment, and I will ensure that the payment details are sent to you promptly. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to your response. Thanks for your understanding; We serve for your comfort. Sincerely, Dr. Erin Leyen. (Delivery Department CWMS)" I noticed the "Dr." in the name, and that seemed a bit "off" to me, so in doing a bit more research, I found that others has similar experiences. On their website I found they have an Ontario address with a BC number... (604) 820-4719 along with a list of other random addresses. At that point I cut all ties.
