I received an email from an HR rep of this company called Sterling Telecom based in South Korea. She offered a 1099 remote job as Process Coordinator. I was interviewed via phone and passed. The intial offer was cancelled because I have incomplete employment documents, I contacted them after few weeks and asked if the position is still opened, it was and I started my training. It was going well but it got sketchy when they mentioned that part of my job is to process payments from their customers through their bitcoin account. I searched and dug further online, and alot of resources I found says that no reputable company will allow an employee to personally process payments from their customers through bitcoin and it is for sure a scam. I immediately quit upon learning this, I am just worried because they have my social information, my ID and bank account information.
