Description

Business claims to send medication via mail. Requested to order box of ZepBound pens while waiting for prior authorization to be sorted out by insurance. My PCP has a script for me, so I was not worried about having a script for the medication. I submitted the request online as the price advertised was $220 for the box. There was no where to pay online so I received a text the next day providing me payment information for an individual (not a business) and strict instructions to pay via 'Family and Friends' so that they would not be charged the business fee. My bank/PayPal was blocking the transaction. However I provided my PayPal account name and they attempted multiple times to request the money from me. Again PayPal/my bank would not allow the transaction. They then asked for me to pay via Vemno which also failed and the person I was sending money to was constantly changing and I sent $220 to a phone number that didn't have a Vemno account and had to reach out to Vemno to get the refund. They then asked for me to pay via Amazon or Apple gift cards. They asked for physical gift cards to avoid an online scam (yes, I know how ironic that is) and that also did not work, as I attempt to buy a print at home gift card from Amazon which ended up being refunded as well. At this point they said they would send the medication without payment. Then proceed to tell me that it was $120 for shipping but it would be refunded once I received the package. I reluctantly agreed to this. Once the package was shipped it was stopped by customs and then they told me I needed to send proof of my prescription for the medication. I said I wasn't sending that to them as it had more of my personal information on it and I didn't feel comfortable doing that. They told me that there was an endocrinologist that could write me a prescription for $280 and would send a copy to the shipping company. I said no, and the person texting me offered to pay his personal money to cover the cost. I again said no, and that I no longer wanted to move forward with this order. I was then harrassed to pay for the medication. I said that they sent me the medication for free, so it wasn't my responsibility to pay for it. I was supposed to be receiving a refund of the $120, which I told them to keep and I would send $100 on 12/26 to be done with this. On 12/26 $100 was sent via Vemno to another random person and I was then told that the $120 wouldn't be refunded until 12/31 and that they would not wait for the $120 to be refunded and I needed to pay it today. They then told me they knew where I lived (due to the attempt at shipping medication) and didn't want any complications because the manufacturer for the drug would be said and the person who had been helping me would lost their job. I felt threatened and decided to send the additional $120 and block the number.
