Description

I received a email about wanting to hire me for a job role that I have been researching. They seemed to be legitimate at first, until I had completed and sent them a Interview Questionnaire. They then informed me that I would receive a request for further personal information before I would be offered an interview. Here is the first email: Dear Applicant, We at Codment received your application for the Remote position of Systems Engineer on LinkedIn. Your credentials and experience have caught our attention, and we would like to invite you for an interview. We believe that you possess the potential to be a valuable addition to our team, and we are eager to get to know you better. The interview will provide you with an opportunity to gain further insight into our company, and for us to discover more about you. If you are interested in proceeding with the interview process, kindly respond to this correspondence with a simple "IN". to proceed with the screening/interview process. We appreciate your interest in joining our team and looking forward to your prompt response. Best regards, Karen Hoffman Address: 1050 Old Nichols Rd, Islandia, NY 11749, They clearly state that they are with the company Codment. When I suspected this was suspicious, I located the codment website, and discovered that their domain was @codment.com and not @codmentcareers.com. I forwarded the email thread to their [email protected] account asking if this was a scam. To which I quickly got a response: Hello, We DO NOT have any affiliation with codmentcareers.com or the sender of that email. We have received inquiries like yours, and it seems like someone is trying to scam people with our look alike name. Please note, we are Codment (our website is codment.com). Harris Harris also asked me to post my story to reddit on a running discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/jobs/comments/17mgg3o/codment_never_got_an_interview_but_still_got_a I believe the domain @codmentcareers.com should be shut down. Someone will or likely has provided these people with their personal information or bank information and will likely be scammed out of their money.
