Scammer identified self as Camella Naomi and advertised 5 dachshund puppies for sale on Seward Marketplace. “Camella Naomi” FB profile showed Girdwood as current city and had pic of a toddler with adult dachshund making scam appear local and legitimate. Scammer requested $350 “refundable” fee to “reserve” a puppy with agreed plan to see puppy in-person following Sunday. “Husband” (Edward Garcia) phone # 817-818-7909 provided for Zelle fund transfer. Became suspicious when “Carmella” refused to speak on phone, pushed for remaining $400 balance and contract without seeing puppy in-person, and only communicated via messenger. “Husband” phone rings then goes to VM with full mailbox. Carmella furthermore provided a 628-232-0989 number, which upon research is a scam number. Discovered scammer had advertised puppies for sale on multiple Alaska listing sites (Seward, Fairbanks, Juneau, McCarthy,….) at at least two various times (May and August), targeting Alaskans.
