I've been paying a legit collection company for seven months. Today I received a letter from this scammer with some same info and different payment site or send a check to. When I called them they said the provider sent it over to them in March. I only provided my birth date and address. I told them no one is getting my money until I figure out what's going on. I then called the actual collection company and they had the right balance and also tried to look up the scammer for me but couldn't find anything. They said I should look into it. I totally agreed!! I called the provider next and they assured me that I was probably correct that it was not legit and to continue making payments to the one I've been using. Beware of letters with minimal contact information and copy cats!
