Description

The job posting was on LinkedIn for a remote personal assistant for the Gibbs Group, LLC. I applied via LinkedIn (no external site). I was emailed by the scammer. I did not realize it was a scam until the first "task" for the job included depositing a check. This person has access to LinkedIn as an employer (though now I went to see and their job listing and profile are gone, meanwhile LinkedIn did not notify me or any of the applicants who applied via easy apply within LinkedIn to this job); he has access to my email, and my phone/address/full name. His email is ************************** and this is potentially their scam website or the company they are lying about being a part of ************************************ 1st email: Hi, I received and reviewed your application regarding the Personal Assistant position at Gibbs Group, Inc. This position is a home-based and flexible part-time job. You can be in any location or work from your home doing all the activities and it doesn't affect your present job if you're employed now. You will work on the average of about 5 - 10 hours per week and will start by paying you $700 per week which will rise to $1000 depending on how effective you are. This job is temporary and could possibly be a permanent one for you based on how you deliver your duties I would have loved to conduct a telephonic interview with you but due to my busy schedule, it'll be difficult to do that. Here are the interview questions, answer all questions, and respond as quickly as you can. What are your primary skills and expertise? What are your strengths and weaknesses? How quickly do you respond during working hours? What would you do if you had a deadline and your computer suddenly crashed? How do you handle a situation when you may not know how to complete a task? Let’s say your inbox is flooded with messages. How do you prioritize which ones to respond to first? What do you do when a client has trouble articulating their needs? Which kind of skills do you believe are the most important for a virtual customer service representative? What software programs are you familiar with? How would you describe your computer skills? Thank You and Best Regards, ******* ***** ***** ****** **** - 2nd email: Dear -----, I am pleased to inform you that your application has been approved and you have been employed to work with me as my Personal Assistant. I will make plans to meet with you as soon as possible. Please fill the attached document to complete your employment. Thank You and Best Regards, ******* ***** ***** ****** **** - 3rd email Hi ----, You can start working as my PA starting from tomorrow or this week. I have a few tasks for you to carry out for me next week, I need to make donations to some foster homes for them to get sanitizers and hand gloves and an immune booster to protect the kids from contracting coronavirus. I will instruct my accountant to make the check available from one of my business accounts to carry out the task and will also include your first week's payment. Kindly confirm if you will be available to receive and deposit the check. Thank You and Best Regards, ******* ***** ***** ****** ***.
