Paid cat ‘breeder’. $650 plus $200 for shipping by air from Montana. Paid $850 by Zelle to [email protected] for a kitten ‘Dan’ which is still offered for sale on the website. I was then contacted by Happy Tail Transport Company and informed that I would need to ‘rent’ a thermal power drive crate for approximately $3,000 to fly the kitten in and that the kitten would be accompanied by a perso who would deliver the kitten to my front door and reimburse me 98 percent of the crate fee. I talked to the fake shipping company about the crate at 406-289-6581. Both individuals sounded as if they could be Asian men. I believe when I first spoke to the ‘breeder’ on the phone he may have said his name was Steve although that doesn’t match the name on the Zelle payment. At the request for the crate rental I knew it was an internet scam but I verified this by contacting an actual pet shipping company who informed me that this was a popular scam and that these heated power drive crates don’t even exist. Apparently many scammers using the same system to sell fake kittens and puppies. I was told by the ‘transport company’ agent that my kitten would be flown from Helena Montana accompanied by a ‘delivery agent’ who would bring the kitten directly from the airport to my home and refund crate rental less 2 percent of the $3,000. I asked the seller for a refund but he told me there was no way since he had already paid the airline shipping fee and altogether had about 500 invested in the kitten. The last contact I had with him he stated he had been a reputable breeder for 14 years and had not cheated anyone. He said it sounded like ‘my first time doing this’ as though that explained everything. Please assist in this matter. We are honest consumers who are out $850 for a nonexistent kitten. Researching online I discovered that many of these websites are totally fake with pictures stolen from other reputable breeders. I have even noticed now that this scammer has the same kittens picture listed twice with two different kitten names under each picture. The kittens ages also are not changing from week to week. I was told kitten Dan was 10 weeks old. I was told I would have him the following day after payment was received. Obviously we paid for a kitten we would never receive because this dcammer has no kittens for sale. He has to be in a scam business relationship with the fake transport company with the farsical nonexistent crates. Please shut these scammers down!
