Monday, Feb. 20, 2023 I was emailed from a Brian Miller about a remote copy editor position paying $49/hour for 30 hours/week for a high-end swimwear retail company that started in Peru. Included were instructions to sign up for a text interview a Katie Brass. When I signed up, I had the one-way interview via text.  Tuesday, Feb. 21, I got a job offer by a Brian Miller in HR, although it didn't come from his own company email address, oddly enough. We spoke on the phone, but we kept having a bad connection, the call dropped several times, and he was using Google Voice. He had a strong unidentifiable accent and said he was in Miami. I didn't learn much about the company or about Brian's own personal experience at the company, and there's very little on LinkedIn. When I looked up the company address on the letterhead in the attached PDFs, it's the address of Theme Dresser, a retail clothing shop that carries the Capittana brand, but I spoke with the store manager who confirmed that there's no Capittana office there.
