Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to submit a formal complaint regarding the company Fenix International Limited, doing business as the online platform OnlyFans, which operates internationally and has a large user base worldwide, especially in the United Kingdom, Australia, the EU and also in the United States. As such, I am raising this issue with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), as this concerns consumers across the entire USA. Due to the nature of its business, I wish to remain anonymous. The company is registered at the following address: Fenix International Limited 9th Floor 107 Cheapside London EC2V 6DN I am reaching out to you because, while my individual case is concerning, I am rather focused on a larger, systemic issue that is being perpetuated by OnlyFans — namely, the platform's tolerance of misleading, deceptive, unfair and potentially illegal business practices. Due to the significant size of OnlyFans' user base, the actual damage lies in the scale of affected consumers. As OnlyFans has failed to adequately address such issues, thousands, if not millions, of users worldwide could and will be similarly impacted by these practices. To illustrate how OnlyFans tolerates such practices, I will briefly outline my specific case: In my situation, a creator on the platform made false promises about providing exclusive content in exchange for a small subscription fee of $3 (presented as a limited-time discount). However, after subscribing, no such content was provided. When I contacted the creator, they requested an additional $70 for alleged access to the promised content, which constitutes a direct violation of the initial agreement. This is a clear case of breach of contract and a violation of applicable consumer protection laws. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve this situation directly with OnlyFans, the platform has failed to provide any satisfactory resolution. In their response, OnlyFans stated that they are unable to influence the activities of creators on their platform and claimed that the content and conduct in question adhered to their policies. They referred to their Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, which, however, clearly prohibit misleading content descriptions and inaccurate information as well as prohibited commercial activity. This directly contradicts their previously given Statement. OnlyFans therefore, is furthermore not complying with their own terms of service and contractual obligations. This inaction and failure to comply with their contractual obligations leaves consumers worldwide vulnerable to such harmful and deceptive practices, demonstrating that OnlyFans is failing to enforce its own policies and provide adequate consumer protection. I have supporting evidence and documents to substantiate and prove all my claims, including the correspondence with OnlyFans as well as proof of the creator’s breach of contract. If required, I can provide these documents for your review. As mentioned, I firmly believe that this issue has broader implications. By continuing to tolerate such business practices, OnlyFans is enabling creators to exploit consumers on a massive and international scale, potentially impacting millions of users. I am asking you to take this complaint seriously, particularly given the nature of the platform involved, which operates within the adult industry. The explicit content offered and the creators' promises of exclusive material, personal or even romantic connections, and other advertised services significantly heighten users' vulnerability. While consumers may bear some responsibility for their choices, the nature of the services on the platform makes it much more likely that users will develop highly personal and emotional investments, making them significantly more susceptible to exploitation through unregulated practices. Therefore, it is even more critical that platforms like OnlyFans handle complaints, promises, and transactions with the utmost transparency, professionalism, and accountability. Furthermore, many individuals affected by such issues will feel too embarrassed or ashamed to report them, fearing judgment or stigma. This silence often enables these deceptive practices to persist unchecked. By tolerating such behaviors and failing to implement adequate safeguards, OnlyFans is complicit in creating and perpetuating an environment where misleading advertising, false claims, and prohibited business practices can thrive, all in the pursuit of profit.
