Description

Our garage door springs broke and our usual company couldn't get to us so my husband contacted what he thought was a Cherry Valley repair service and instead heard from these folks. They said they could come same day so my husband had them come. The man said not only were the springs broken, but the drums and cables were not heavy duty enough to handle the door so they needed to be replaced. He showed my husband some picture on his phone of what the parts would cost, and my husband, not knowing anything about garage door repair or parts authorized him to do the repair. The final cost was $2716. The man then stated that because my husband had tried to open the door he ruined the entire opener system and that would need to be replaced. My husband then became suspicious and told him he would not authorize any further work. The man, of Middle Eastern decent, in his mid 30's got cross, wanted payment either in cash, Venmo or credit card. My husband paid with Credit card. We then asked our usual company (Cropp's) to come and check the garage and he stated we grossly overpaid for the service. He stated we could have bought an new door for that amount. He then wrote up a bill so that we could demonstrate that we were overcharged. Raynor garage door company also agreed to write up an invoice for the same services so we could make our case. Both came to around $500.00. Our efforts to get in touch with a Supervisor at Sonic have been unsuccessful despite having called 4 times. We have no name for our service technician and when we asked the phone worker, she refused to give us his name OR the location of this company. Both Cropp's and Raynor were aware of this company and their overcharging. We cannot file a complaint because we have no idea where this company is located. When you call the number, all you get are phone operators.
