The scammer sent out a legit looking email from a person disguised as a colleague in the same profession as I advertising a 2014 baby grand piano belonging to their late father that they would like to give away. I was informed to contact the movers who had possession of the piano. Upon doing so, the mover told me they would only deliver the piano and that we could not pick it up. The cost to move it was $563 and had to be wired. The piano was suppose to be delivered the next day. The morning of the delivery day, the mover emailed me that the piano had to be insured according to DOT and some other agency that had pulled them over on a highway in Madisonville, La which is no where near where they said the piano was coming from. I started researching and discovered that I had been scammed.
