I received a text message written in Spanish, which was sent to my Mexican cellphone number. The sender (listed as an email address) was claiming to be an HR representative from an unnamed company, which had recently reviewed my resume and thought I’d be an ideal candidate for their online remote job opportunity. The supposed job was described as a “flexible, remote, part-time or full-time position” with a daily salary ranging from $100 to $300 USD for 60 to 90 minutes of work per day depending on my schedule working anytime and from anywhere. The message then prompted me to contact them via WhatsApp message at +1 (213) 994-0970, adding a final note that applicants must be 23 years of age or older to apply for this position.
