I placed an order online via the Maria and Sophia website. The home page of the site claims to be a Vancouver based business having a close out sale offering deep discounts on their “timeless” “unique” garments. They claimed to be a grandmother and granddaughter team who are sadly going out of business. They also claimed free shipping with “Purolator” After I placed my order, I received a confirmation email with a tracking number. This tracking number was not recognized with Purolator. On June 24 I received my package (small enough to fit in my mailbox) the shipper was a company called “UniUni” and came from China. The garment I received looked NOTHING like what the images depicted on their website. It was extremely thin, cheap polyester. It had no tags indicating the materials used. Attempts to contact this company only led to frustration. Because my complaints did not aligns with their “refund policy” if I wanted my money back, I would have to ship the garment back to china at my expense. They provided an address (which was invalid) and a phone number that was out of service. I later looked back at the charge on my credit card, and it came from an address in Slovenia (Ob potoku 64). This online retailer is scamming consumers into believing they are a Vancouver based clothing store selling handcrafted, unique garments. This is 100% a scam. I have documented many other websites showing the exact same garments
