I bought a car part on from an online store. The part was $500. Located in San Antonio. I am in Howell MI 48843. We agreed on $250 deposit and $250 when the part arrived. He says he used a shipping company called Apex Shipping. A few days later I get a text and email from Apex asking for $267 for insurance fee. When the part arrives I would get a refund of about $260. They said to send it to them using Google Pay,, Zelle or an Apple Gift Card. The shipper picked up the part from the seller or so I was told by the seller. Apex says they are now holding the part , waiting for insurance payment before they will send it to me. Apex gave us a tracking number ( AS084133181374). My search for companies using that number turned up nothing. However , when I put it into their website it worked. Their site is apexshippingco.com. The site is composed of snippets from other legitimate sites I found., copied and pasted. I believer that this fake company intercepted communications with the real shipping company that the seller hired. The scammers are demanding I send them am Apple Gift Card. The fake website is apexshippingco.com
