Awful experience when buying RAM for my laptop. I was at the 23000 Savi Ranch Pkwy, Yorba Linda, CA 92887 location. I went in to upgrade the RAM on my laptop. After the salesman helped me find the correct RAM, he asked if I'd like to have it installed, and I asked how much it was. He said it was $40 - $60, which I said was way too much, it's straightforward, and I've done it many times. I asked him if they had a screwdriver so that I could swap out the RAM really quick, and the geek squad guy was right next to us and just said no worries, bring it over with you, and he'd do it quickly (5-minute job max). Then I walked over to the register by the geek squad. They charged me for the RAM like usual and then took my Laptop to the back. Someone else came out and asked me for my phone number, which I didn't think anything of, and gave it to him. Then someone else came out and said that'll be $40. I asked what you were talking about. I just told you I didn't want something this simple done if it would cost money. Then I wondered if it would cost money; why wouldn't they have charged me for it when I was buying the RAM at the Geeksquad register? They said I had to pay to get my laptop back. Abysmal service and communication. I frequent this Best Buy a lot as I was born and raised in this city and now, unfortunately, will no longer be using them for anything related to my personal electronics or business needs. Be careful of what they say before they get ahold of your electronics and can hold them hostage! Bestbuy you should be better than this. Hope this helps someone in the future from getting charged for something they didn't ask for.
