          About Us

          The BBB of Southeast Tennessee & Northwest Georgia is a non-profit organization (501-C-6) that is made up of businesses that meet ethical standards and are interested in seeing that consumers get a fair deal in the marketplace. We want you to be able to trust the companies where you spend your dollars. BBB does a number of things to advance marketplace trust: We evaluate businesses and charities based on ethical standards. We provide a forum for Customer Reviews; positive and negative. We provide free dispute resolution between consumers and businesses. We provide BBB Business Reviews for businesses and charities, giving them a letter grade to help you make informed decisions while doing business. We alert the public when we hear about scam’s, We provide educational seminars for consumers and businesses. You can find us on Facebook and on Twitter.           Torch Awards For Marketplace Ethics

          The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics seek to elevate and celebrate the commitment made by for-profit and non-profit enterprises to the highest standards of leadership character and organizational ethics. The awards bring attention to the practices that these organizations employ to generate a high level of trust, among their employees, customers and their communities. The awards were established in 1994 and embody the BBB's mission of advancing marketplace trust. The Torch Awards for Ethics is open to for-profit, (and optionally) also to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations of all sizes physically located within BBB serving Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia service area. Firms need not be BBB Accredited. Non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations must complete the BBB Charity Standards Evaluation process, and currently meet all BBB Standards for Charity Accountability.

          Student of Integrity Scholarship

          This will be the 20th year for the BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship. The BBB is pleased to have built on the success of this program. The partnership and support of our sponsors, the community, and the educational institutions validate the program’s success. The BBB is proud to have awarded Ten $1,000 Scholarships for the 2023 winning Seniors. Winners were selected from the 95 High Schools in Tennessee counties Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, McMinn, Marion, Meigs, Polk, Rhea, Sequatchie, and Van Buren, and in Georgia counties Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield Counties.           Fraud Summit

          As a part of National Consumer Protection week your BBB is proud to be co-hosting a free fraud-prevention event in Chattanooga with partners from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), TN Attorney General’s Office, TN Department of Commerce & Insurance, AARP-TN, and the Mayor’s Council on Livability and Aging (MCLA). The event will be held on Thursday, March 7th from 10:30am to noon at the Family Justice Center at 5705 Uptain Road in Chattanooga.           BBB 26th Annual Golf Classic

          Better Business Bureau's 26th Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, September 27th. Since 1998, BBB serving Southeast TN and Northwest GA has been hosting the annual golf classic. It is one of the most attended tournaments in the area. This year we wanted to especially honor our 25th year of the BBB Golf Classic and the numerous programs that the Golf Classic has helped to launch and sustain. These programs have had substantial impact on the communities throughout the 21 counties served by our BBB. BBB serving Southeast TN and Northwest GA is the flagbearer of honesty and integrity in our regional marketplace. In addition to offering golf on a beautiful day and a great course, the BBB Golf Classic proved to be a great opportunity to socialize with other businesses, entertain customers, make new acquaintances, and meet potential new customers. The golfers had opportunities to win competition prizes, including Hole-In-One competitions at each 3 par hole. Prizes included an automobile, year's worth of steaks and golf clubs. We had the popular Bulls Eye Hole competition again and gave away $100 in prize money. During BBB's Shoot Out tournament, golfers with the top three longest drives won prizes ranging from $200 to $500. Golfers also enjoyed great food and drink thanks to Cooke's Food Stores, Food City, Il Primo, P&C Construction, Coca Cola Bottling Co, Mountain Spring Water, and Cherokee Distributing. The annual BBB golf tournament is designated as its single money raising event of the year. Its purpose is to maintain a non-dues related income that is used for reserve operating funds in difficult financial circumstances and to further enhance an improve consumer and business education and prevention of fraud and scam activities in the marketplace.

          Festive Forest

          BBB is excited to launch a new event in partnership with EPB and the city of Chattanooga's Parks & Outdoors Team, with our Festive Forest! This is an opportunity for us to help spread holiday cheer among our community, while also spotlighting local trustworthy companies and non-profits through a beautiful and creative display of decorated trees. Come be a part and help us promote holiday cheer while showcasing your business or organization to our community. The displays will be up for the six weeks between November 22nd and January 1st. Sponsorships are $350 for BBB Accredited Businesses and Accredited Charities and $400 for companies that don’t currently hold BBB Accreditation but meet eligibility requirements.           Our dispute resolution program can help you resolve your lemon law complaint, and you don't even have to hire a lawyer. Our lemon law complaint program covers car warranty issues against participating manufacturers.
