In 2021, a sales representative from Ontario Green Savings came to our door claiming to be part of government rebates and ongoing energy saving initiatives. We welcomed a conversation about our outdated water tank heater (2010) and the representative did a "full assessment" of our current water tank and indicated that it had significant build up sitting at the bottom of the tank and that it should be replaced and we should consider tankless water heater for X, Y and Z reasons. We had our water tank removed and a tankless water heater installed shortly thereafter.
In 2022, during a mortgage refinance, we discovered a significant lien had been placed against our home by Ontario Green Savings (via ******** **** *********** ****** *********** * *****) without our knowledge or consent. At no point during our interactions with the company were we informed that entering into a service agreement would result in a lien being registered on our property. We were shocked to learn about this, as it was never clearly disclosed in the sales process, nor were we provided with documentation that explained the legal or financial implications of the agreement.
They continue to charge us approximately $100 per month for our tankless water heater. Today, I was recently contacted by a reliable HVAC company (******* **** *******) who said that OSG has gone bankrupt and the province has provided them with a list of OSG customer's whose products have not been maintained on an annual basis as originally agreed to in the OSG terms. For the record, OSG has yet to come since the initial installation of the tankless water heater.
**** ******* ** * ***** *** consumers should exercise caution when engaging in home service agreements. At this point, I am just trying to obtain a copy of my agreement and find out the balance owing on our financing so it does not effect us when we go to sell our home. I would also like to know where my payments are going!Initial Complaint

Was contacted by marketing@ontariogreen savings.com for a assessment (green #1) on our home and on Oct 13 2021 a salesman came to the house and sold us a **** ( green#3)for the whole house. We were duped into signing contract (green #2 & green #5 ) .Salesman told us we would be approved for grants of $900 to $1000 to $ 5000. They came and installed on oct 17 2021. After a few months of paying $67.79 a month I tried to get a hold of Green Savings , and was able to get them on phone. I never got the grant approval we here told about. After a couple of years we wanted to get a reverse mortgage and was told that ******* ******* ***** had a lien on our house and we had to pay $10000 to get it off. We didn't know how to get a claim on them till we thought of you .We need a refund of some kind to help us in our retirement. We also had to buy new filters for the **** filter $250 as they never came to changeInitial Complaint

In 2022 my ******** bill was very high.
Ontario Green Savings gave me call stating that if we add HVAC EQUIPMENT
that this equipment would reduce my ******** bill plus I can use it as a tax right off. This did not happen. When I moved I discovered that a lean was placed on my house of 23,295.86. Over time I found out that many people fell for the same **** that I did.Initial Complaint

Contracted with Ontario Green Savings for a tankless water heater in Nov 2020. They promised future rebates from the Gov,t and that they would provide annual maintenance. Never got any rebates (shame on me for believing a sales person) , but more importantly I am unable to get any maintenance. I have called their number severaltimes and left messages, with no response. I have filled out the service request on their website form, still no response. Plus I just found out they put a NOSI lien on my house.
I just want them to contact me and provide the service as per the contract.Initial Complaint

Went into a contract with Ontario Green Savings in January 2021. Was told it was a rental and I could cancel at anytime. Found out that after 1 year in that the monthly fee would go up 3.5% every year for 10 years. Was told I would have to do a buy out. Got them to price freeze it for 2 years. Bern contacting Ontario Green Savings leaving messages on #2, #3 and #4 when I call every day since January 20th to get them to come in and do their yearly maintenance on my hepa Filter which is in the contract. They have never called me back. I have email them at ****@*******************.com... so far no response. Since Ontario Green Savings is not up holding their end of the agreement can I cancel my monthly payments with CHICC who is doing the rental agreement with me thru Ontario Green Savings?Initial Complaint

I was ******* into buying a HEPA filter in 2021. I was promised a $ 40.00 monthly rebate which would pay for the unit bc my gas bill would be lower as well. Against my husband wishes i signed. It had to be installed next day that should have been a red flag. They promised to come back in 2 monts.6 months 12 months and at the end of the term of 60 months. They promised and it is in the booklet that he maintenance and filter change yearly and two yearly is included. The first year was no problem the filter was changed. Now since last Nov i can not get a gold of them by phone or email. The filters are so very dirty that i wonder hoe healthy are they. My heating is not working as efficiently as it used to. I can not even find these filter but any filter for the HEPA system is in the hundreds of dollars. How can this be solved ? it is not right that these people take advantage
of people. I would stop the payment but then they will put a lien on our house. What to do??Initial Complaint

On February 13, 2019 I entered into a rental agreement with Ontario Green Savings for one smart thermostat & 3 smoke & carbon dioxide detectors which they installed. The contract is for 72 months = 6 years for $67.79 per month. I have made all 49 monthly payments to date = $2,401. I wish to exercise my Option to Purchase which is clause 8 under Terms & Conditions. I have called Ontario Green Savings at their 1-866-899-9917 since February 19, 2024 leaving numerous messages but they haven't returned my calls. I also emailed them from their website & sent an email to them directly as well. I have not received responses from these emails as well. I am selling my house & wish to terminate this rental agreement asap. Please help. Thank you.
