    I had a 30,000 loan with this company for replacement of my hot water tank, my furnace and my air conditioner. Initially I paid 38.34 weekly. The term of that loan was that it matured on Dec. 22, 2023. The interest rad went up to 13.99% which increased the weekly payment from 38.34 to 81.18 per week. I decided to pay the loan off. I requested a payout and had an official cheque sent to them for the balance of the loan, which was 14,128.72. I sent it registered mail.. they received the cheque on Monday morning at 8.38 am. (I have a copy of the signature. When I phoned them to request a copy of my account statement showing a zero balance, they advised that the cheque had not been posted and wouldn’t be posted for two to three weeks. They advised that they would continue to take out weekly payments. I phoned my bank and they put a stop payment on the automatic debit, hopefully so no more payments would come out.. Today, January19th, 2023 they attempted to take out a payment of 81.18 The stop payment prevented the payment from coming out of my account.I still want a copy of my current statement showing a zero balance. I dont want to be contacted by this agency again.

    Address agreement was linked to and lien is linked to: ** ********* ****** *** *********** ******** ******
    Dispute: Lien placed against home one month after all 24 payments were made.
    **** ***** *********: payments began 10/29/2018 and ended 9/29/2020. (bank records attached)
    Simply Group Financial who bought **** ***** registered Lien #******** ON 2/10/2020 (3 days later) for the full amount of the financing amount of $12,000.00.
    September 2023 we sold our home & our lawyer discovered the lien. We contacted the company several times and they denied having any record of our account. **** ***** ********* confirmed in an email that it was paid in full as of 9/29/2020. They contacted Simply Group as well.
    We sent SG Financial all documents on 11/7/2023 proving this and they sent a link back which our lawyer had already sent in at the end of September. I emailed them again 12/27/2023 but have not heard anything back. It has been 9 weeks of waiting with no response. $12,00.00 is a lot of money for us at age 80 and 83 years old. We want our money discharged immediately. This Lien was registered illegally-and even states it has a scheduled expiry of October 2, 2022!

    I am rejecting this response because they indicate they are looking into this further so we of course do not want this closed until we reach a resolution. We have provided all evidence that we paid what was owed so the lien should never have been place.Keep this matter open.
