    Today Friday July 20th 2023 I went to Fowler Tires with a 45% off coupon for any *********** or ********* tires. After getting a quote which I had also done the previous week for 380 per tire I brought out there coupon. He then says oh that's only if you get them installed here. I'm like it doesn't say that. He says I'm sure it does so I read it to him. But I said you know what ok I'm getting a good deal you guys can install them. He then tells me my new total is 1880 from 1580 before the coupon. I'm like I got a 45% off coupon and he's like yeah but now your paying for instant and balancing. I'm like what is balancing 1000 dollars? He says no it's 75 per tire. I'm like then how is it so much? He says the tires are 697 each. I'm like you just quoted me for 380 each and I've compared to other shops how are they 697 now? He says after a bunch of arguing that because of the coupon I gotta pay catalog price and I only end up saving 2%. That's absolutely false advertising to offer a 45% copoun then jack up the price by an equal amount when someone uses it is very misleading. If I just pulled out my coupon right away said that I need these tires I would have had no idea. Imagine how many elderly unhandy or new Canadians would be taken advantage of. I took my business elsewhere I'm not looking for anything back except for them to stop this false advertising thank you.

    Good Morning,

    Our shop runs summer promotions as this is our slow time of year.  When the consumer was provided a quote this discount was automatically provided.   There was no mention of a coupon or we would have based the discount according to the coupon.  The coupon does state it is based on catalogue price.  I have ******** a photo showing the msrp is 693.50 and with 45 percent off the tire would be 381.42 per tire.  Installation is $85 and there is an $18 Ontario stewardship fee and then hst.  With the 45% off and installed total cost would be $1,840.41.  Our ad had previously stated installation was necessary and for some reason was not included.  We have reached out to the advertiser to ensure this is corrected for future ads.
