Signed agreement with Canada's Green Home Solutions (CGHS) for Energy Upgrade services including:
1) Providing & Installation of Heat Pump + Coil. 10 Years Warranty for Parts & Labour.
2) Process of my Rebate application with government including Audit related steps
3) Buyouts of my rental furnace & rental hot water tank (HWT) + 10 Years Warranty from CGHS.
Agreement was signed on Aug. 31, 2023, for CAD$ 17,000 for the above services. They arranged loan of CAD$ 17,000 from their partner company, ******** (*****). The monthly instalment is CAD$ 112 from ****, which is quite fine since I would get rid of monthly rentals of Furnace + HWT.
Heat Pump + Coil was provided & installed within a day of signing deal. Monthly Payment to ***** started through bank via Pre-Authorized Payment. However, following issues are still pending even after more than 4 months:
1) Energy Audit Report.
2. Rebate Application Number - Necessary for Government Loan application.
3. Buyouts of existing Furnace & Hot Water Tank to cease monthly rentals.
CGHS Owner, Waleed (Cell No. ###-###-####) was contacted 2 months back. He promised to resolve all issues on priority. Unfortunately, all issues are unresolved. Now Waleed is not responding on phone & even not attending the calls.
Concerns / Reason of Complain:
1) Monthly rentals (CAD$ 114.26) for Furnace & HWT are being paid in addition to **** monthly payment for loan + interest (CAD$ 112.10)
2) Rebate from govt. is at stake since no information is provided yet. Audit Advisor’s Report is not provided, so I cannot apply for rebate myself.
3) Warranty against Heat Pump, Coil, Furnace & HWT from CGHS is not expected since company is avoiding fulfilling their obligations.Initial Complaint

On Sept 13, 2023 , we signed a contract for a new tankless hot water tank and attic insulation with "Canada's Green Home Solutions". They agreed they would pay out the old water tank and remove it from our property. It was removed but never returned to the rental company. It was not paid off. We are still paying $45.00 month rental for the old tank and $98 a month for the new tank and insulation. The buy out as of today for the old tank is $750 including taxes. ". Neither ***** nor "*******" (Canada' Green Home") returned any of my or my husband's many phone calls/messages. They promised a 10 yr warranty on the tankless. Never submitted the paperwork on this. The tankless does have a 1 yr warranty but we cannot complete and submit because we require information from Canada’s green home solution to complete the warranty. I was also promised some other incentives but they did not materialize. Most important is the '********/********' matter with the rental water tank ($45.00/month) that needs to be cancelled/reimbursed effective September 13th. ******** advised us that unless the approximately $750.00 for the old tank is paid by us: the contract with them cannot be cancelled. As well they promised to submit for the attic insulation rebate through the government and they have not done so. I am now reading similar situations with other customers. After signing agreement there was a 6 day cooling off period in case we decided to change our mind. Now we know why they were here to install the day after we signed. We were surprised they showed up at the door. My husband called the rep from Canada’s green home solution and he said it was ok. They were here to install. Now we know why . **** *** *** **** ** ***** ** *** ****** ** ***** ******* ** ****** **** *** **** ***** ** **** ** *** *** ******* ** *** ******* *** ** **** ********* **** ***** ******* ** ****** ** *** ***** ***** ********* ** ** ******** ** ************* Thank you. ****Initial Complaint

signed on Aug 22, to have items installed and to have them cover all expenses to buyout my rentals, bills etc, I have called and emailed on numerous occasions trying to find out whern payments will be made. they have installed everything the next day--pressure sale, misrepresented it all, I have left messages, emails with no replies back . I will now have the rentals I still have to pay, the loan for their things beginning this month and expenses I have gotten,.
Worried also that they said, everything will be serviced by them when need, but if I can't get ahold
of anyone, then how will things be serviced.
I want immediate payment of all expenses and buyouts, or cancel the entire contract and have things back the way it was originallyInitial Complaint

I was approached by Canada's Green Home Solutions early in June/2023 to upgrade my home to save money on my utilities. I assumed it was a Government grant deal for weather proofing my home. I found it a bit odd that they didn't do an energy audit or even size the new equipment to my homes needs. Since the sales person seemed straight up and honest I had them begin to install a new gas furnace, air conditioner, tankless water heater, hepa air filter, water purifier and attic insulation on or around 10/05/23 I was mostly happy with the work performed. The owner told me that he was behind on his mortgage and would I talk to the finance company to tell them the job was complete to my satisfaction so he could get paid for the work ASAP. With the problems we have today, I felt that it would be kind to help him out.
Now the problems began. My automatic bank payments to ******** didn't stop. I contacted them and they said the payments were a month behind. So I paid $218.26 for June, $175.13 for July and $175.13 for August plus the payments on the new equipment, $161.11. I have contacted them several times and was told they would look into it and refund my ******** payments. They also told me I would receive $15.000 in rebates for natural gas and electricity. I have not received a nickel. I contacted ******** and they tell me they didn't receive their old equipment back and that I'm still responsible for the payments. * ** * ********* *** ***** ****** *** ******** ** ****. * **** **** * **** **** ******** I have a loan for $29.000 for their service which is a bit much. *** *** **** ** *** *** **** ** **** **** *** * ***** **** **** **** ** *** ** *** ***** **** ****** ** *** ******** * *** **** **** *** **** **** ** **** **** *** ** **** *** ** **** **** *** *******Initial Complaint

On April 5th, we signed a contract for a new furnace & tankless hot water tank with "Canada's Green Home Solutions". It took 5 different working crews before the job was done. However, the old hot water tank is still sitting outside on the lawn. The contract with ********* ****' was never cancelled, although '*****' the Sales Rep. confirmed this in writing to us, including the statement "we pay all costs from ******** after April 5th". However, we keep getting billed by ******** and threatened to pay for the discarded Hot Water Tank (something like $750.00)! Neither ***** nor "*******" (Canada' Green Home") returned any of my or my husband's many phone calls/messages. The new tankless hot water system does not work properly and apparently, needs an additional circulation pump?, which was promised, but not delivered. Otherwise, we waste a lot of water before it turns warm! Also, I was expecting the new furnace to include a humidifier; however, since this was not spelled out up front: it may be at the discretion of Canada's Green Home"; it sure would be nice. I was also promised some other incentives but they did not materialize. Most important is the '********/********' matter with the rental water heater ($40.63/month) that needs to be cancelled/reimbursed effective April 5/2023. ******** advised us that unless the approximately $750.00 for the old tank is paid by us: the contract with them cannot be cancelled.
I read a similar situation of another customer with the hot water tank on your website on May 26; we are in the same boat. Thank you. ****Initial Complaint

The agreement was tp pay monthly and that was it. Four months later, they haven't withdrawn the money and is using that as an excuse to tell a judge I haven't paid in order to justify the Lien. Dear better business bureau
In response to this complaint we have reached out to ****** ****** to rectify the issue and clarify any concerns he had. It is important to note that we take pride in our customer service & operations when dealing with customers. Is this particular matter I believe ****** is upset that he is refinancing his home and noticed the lien regarding the equipment that we installed although it was clarified to him during the signing process as well as on the consumers protection form he read and signed in which was read left behind with him at his home. I have reached out to the finance company in order to remove the lien in order for him to refinance his home without having to pay the loan in full. We have reached out to ****** on numerous occasions to assist him with the process and to ensure customer satisfaction although he has been very negative towards our staff members threatening to shut us down and the job security of our staff. We have responded in a professional and ethical manner and customer-centricity is one of our core values and beliefs. The invoice ****** left with you was the original invoice before he decided to add and air conditioner as well as a water softener resulting in us going back to sign another invoice that was for as larger amount. Also, after investigating the matter we would like to confirm that ****** had made 3 payments to the finance company regarding his equiptment purchased confirming there is no scam going on. ******** is a great finance company that has a great reputation in which they take pride of doing good business. We understand the concern and will work closely to help ****** out but we strongly many claims he has made to be inaccurate. Hopefully this clears up any misconception. Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:Amendment to the initial complaint “They withdrew the money under the auspices of a finance company I never heard of, ***** ***."
Rebuttal response:
As per the agreement in place, I was to pay monthly, which I’m doing but they have enacted a lien upon my house which is against the law as I have followed up on my obligation to pay monthly. Under an agreement in principle in place, “No lien shall be permitted to be placed upon the homeowner unless multiple attempts have been made to reach him and payment has never been received”.
I am asking them to remove said lien permanently otherwise court action will follow suit. They were supposed to drop off and set up ****** ***. They never did. It’s been three months. The front door doesn’t lock properly. They were supposed to have fixed that. They never have.
They also **** to me saying I would receive government rebates for going green.
According to the ******* ****** *****, I don’t qualify and they, Canada’s Green Home Solutions, don’t qualify to offer rebates. ************************************** ******** ***** **** ********* ** *** *********** I’m not saying it’s a **** but draw your own conclusions. Thank you for reaching out to us again. We understand that you have raised several issues in your complaint, and we would like to address them accordingly.
Firstly, we want to clarify that there is indeed a lien placed on your home for the financed equipment, as clearly stated in the agreement you signed. The presence of this lien was part of the terms and conditions of the agreement, and you were made aware of it at the time of signing. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding or lack of clarity in this regard. However, we assure you that the lien is lawful and compliant with the terms of the agreement.
Concerning the front door lock, Our records indicate that the door lock was installed correctly and connected to your app successfully. The issue you mentioned regarding the app not confirming the door is locked appears to be related to the tightness of your door, as well as any pre-existing issues with the door. Our technician has confirmed that while the app may not show the door as locked due to these factors, the door lock itself is fully functional. ****** assured us that this is a minor issue that does not impact the security or functionality of the lock.
Regarding the government rebates, we want to clarify the situation. While we are able to process rebates for eligible customers, in your specific case, we have confirmed ( at the time of signing ) that there are no eligible government rebates for the equipment we installed. However, in good faith and as a gesture of goodwill, we offered you an internal rebate of $1200 from our company in 90 days. We believe this demonstrates our commitment to customer satisfaction.
In accordance to your claim that you were not given enough time to read the contract its important to highlight our customer service team informed you about your buyer rights and provided you with ample time to review the contract before proceeding, which was stated during a recorded phone call outlining the 10-day cooling off period under the Consumer Protection Act. As an adult who signs for a $30,000 loan, it is expected that you take the time to thoroughly read and understand all the proper documents. We provide all necessary documents and information to our customers, and it is their responsibility to ensure they are fully informed before proceeding. Negligence in this regard cannot be used as an excuse.
We sincerely apologize if you feel upset or frustrated by the presence of the lien. However, we would like to emphasize that our actions have been in accordance with the agreed-upon terms and legal obligations. We also want to address any false allegations made in your complaint and assure you that we take them seriously. ** ******* **** **** ********* ***** *** **** ********** **** ********** ** *** ********** *** we encourage you to reconsider the facts given.
We value your feedback and want to ensure that we address all of your concerns to your satisfaction. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work towards a resolution.

Dear Better Business Bureau,
We would like to address the concerns outlined in the file as follows:
Regarding the acceptance of ******* ****** Board (***) programs, such as the ******* *********** program, we want to emphasize that we have no control over their approval. Our role is to assist customers in the application process, with the potential for them to receive money back if they meet the eligibility criteria. We strictly comply with the Consumer Protection Act.
During the in-home assessment, our sales representative's intention was to offer energy-efficient improvement recommendations for the customer's home. While assisting her, we decided to assist ******** ******* with her OESP application, clearly stating that there are no guarantees regarding program eligibility.
Regarding the claim of not signing an electronic copy of the loan agreement, we would like to clarify that the customer did sign the agreement, as confirmed through the text communication forwarded to her. Additionally, the invoice signed and provided clearly stated that the promotion of 0% interest was applicable only for the initial 24-month term. The customer was made aware that the renewal rate for the remaining 240-month amortization period would be the market rate of 11.99%.
We are pleased to inform you that the old ******** rental hot water tank account has been closed, and the $2000 incentive promised to the customer has been directly deposited into her account. She can confirm this transaction.
We value integrity as one of our core values and remain committed to fulfilling our promises and treating our customers with utmost integrity.
For any further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
Sincerely,CGHS Management.

I had a tankless hot water tank installed by this company in February 2023. The person who installed this took out my rental hot water tank. At that time I was told the rental would be covered in full by the company. I have contacted this company many many times and spoke to a number of people who are so called managers. Every time they reassure me that this is being taken care of. I am still receiving email from ******** Gas that this amount is still outstanding. The amount is 863.17.Business Response
