1 starI am a convention refugee and I have a travel document for my traveling. I wanted to travel to Cuba. Before buying the package from Sunwing, I called them and asked about my Status and my documents and they told me you have no problem.
Also, I emailed Embassy Cuba and asked them, They answered with Open work permit and Travel Document you can go to this trip and you do not have any problem. But in the airport, Sunwing because of the lack of knowledge did not let me to fly because I do not have PR card. Also, they did not refund the amount of package to me. 1 star** * ***** *** **** ***** * *****. Their motto that they like to put out there is that Sunwing Cares - but nothing could be further from the truth. A group of my family and friends just booked an all inclusive resort vacation package through Sunwing. Unfortunately ** ****** ** *** suffered a massive heart attack the first night of our trip. ** ** ********* ** * ********* ******* **** ** **** *** ****** ** ****** ** *** *** ** ******* ****** ****** ** ****** ** **** *** **** As a result we had three flights home that were not going to be used. We asked Sunwing what could be done. ** *** * *** ****** ******* *** **** ** *** ***** ********* We asked Sunwing if we could do name changes for 2 of the unused flights home, we would even pay a change fee. They said no to that. We asked if we could change the return dates, they said no to that. They basically told us the only thing we could do is to book them new flights home with no refund or any assistance. First we got tossed around trying to figure out who we should be dealing with and then they basically told us they would do absolutely nothing to help out. Sunwing Vacations counsels their customers on the importance of travel insurance for instances like this. When booking a vacation package that is 100% non-refundable, no changes allowed, travel insurance would assist travellers when faced with medical emergencies as such. We did, we booked your worry free travel insurance. But it's only worry free if something happens before you leave. We believe that it's incredibly bad service when you don't even consider giving us the option of a change. We were willing to pay a change fee for other family to use 2 of the return flights or change to a different, later flight for my mother and husband. Instead those 3 seats were left empty and all of our family flew home on different airlines (where my husband and mother were treated amazingly, because that airline recognized it was a terrible situation). How does that make any sense? You not only lost those change fees but also future business because of the way this was handled. And it wasn't just the inflexibility, it was the way it was communicated. Now, only when we put up a bad review, we get a sorry for your loss but there was none of that when we asked for help. It was just a bunch of no we can't do that, with absolutely no feeling attached to it at all. So I would sincerely consider changing your Sunwing Cares motto.Review fromDave H

1 starRecently booked a trip to Cancun from kelowna BC and paid around $3000 per person. ** ******* **** ** * *** ***** *** ***** ****** ******* ******* ** *** **** *** ****** ***** **** ******* ******* That is where it ends I will not be flying with sunwing again. Delayed departure caused us to arrive late at our hotel and receive mistreatment for late check in. Oh and then the flight back was also delayed we were supposed to arrive back to kelowna at 10:30 but ended up getting shipped to Vancouver to await in limbo for 24 hrs. The delays and the customer service is brutal. Our transfer from the hotel came on time only to find out upon arriving at Cancun airport the flight was delayed and had to stand outside for an hour because they couldn’t check us in that early. Finally checked in and spent over 5.5 hours in the airport waiting. Had to spend $100 on dinner in Cancun ******* *** ** ******* *** ******* *****. Then let’s talk about the seats…the most cramped uncomfortable seats I have ever experienced. Also no tv or radio just sit up and cramp up while staring into the headrest in front of you for 6 hours. Make that 7.5 hours now we are headed to Vancouver because they couldn’t land from being so late taking off. We have now been standing in line to check in to our flight from Vancouver to kelowna for over 2 hours as sunwing has two staff working. If we arrive on time which looks like it is impossible now as we should be boarding in a matter of minutes *** ***** *** ***** **** *** ****** ******* we will have spent almost 24 hours travelling back from cancun. They said you get a free checked in bag when you select the seat.
They charged us again and when I called the customer service, the individual told me “you’re not understanding me, this is not a valid complaint!” I asked to be transferred to a manager as I have a clear print screen picture of the offering stating that the bag is included and that it’s already included in the vacation package. This is clear.

The behaviour of your customer service representative was completely out of line- disrespectful. It is not the first time I have experienced bad service from a Sunwing representative, so I disagree with you.
Regarding the false advertising claim on your website- I have not had one person out of 20 people I've shown the advertising you have that does not agree that you get a 29" seat pitch, that you will not be in Elite Plus seats in a row up to 10, you get one free checked bag (which one is already included in the vacation packages), and one free personal item. It's very clear.
That is why *** ******* *** I bought Preferred Seats- otherwise, we would not have "upgraded."
This is false advertising; **** ****** ** *** ****** **** *** **** **** But we're just clients, forced to do and pay what the airlines say, or you risk ruining your holidays and not being allowed to fly—these are ******** tactics.

1 starMyself and my family went to the Dominican Republic and we booked a dolphin Explorer Excursion the woman who gave us the Excursion was from Sunway but we never went to the Dolphin explorer we went to the Ocean Park Excursion instead they charged us an additional $800 plus they wanted another $260 for the pictures that we didn't get to take **** ** *** ******* *** *** ** *** ******* *** ** ****** ** ************ I want my money back I don't know how to get it. 1 starWe were told on the bus and in an email to meet our rep at 10am in the hotel lobby in Havana. Nearly 2 hours to be told they don't come to ******** ******* Hotel.
AC didn't work well, but there was hot water, so we didn't ask for a different room.
It was a little further from Old Havana, but can't expect them to move the hotel.
Varadero wasn't our scene, but we had fun anyway.
We booked the sunset cruise in Varadero, which included shopping . . . . where all the stores were closed. Hard to shop like that.
An entire bus load of us waited where we were dropped off, after 20ish minutes, 6 people walked back to their hotel, 2 got in a taxi, and the rest of us were standing there, a nice security guard and I (I don't speak any Spanish) managed to get a call into the office, and an emergence pickup was setup. We were abandoned by ******/Sunwings at a ****** in Varadero.
The bus just dropped people off at the hotel, cans still rolling around the aisle, but they managed to get us back to the hotel.
So the day before we went to leave, we checked in with our Sunwing rep at ******** ****** ******* and I was told twice, 4 hours before our flight . . Our flight is at 10:55 so at 6:55 the bus would be there,.... that's even before breakfast. At 7:15 a different couple told us they were told 7:30 . . . ** *** *** * ***** ** ***** ** ** **** *** ****** * **** ******* * ***** **** **** ** ******** **** * ** ********* * **** ***** *** **** ****** *** ** ** **** **** *** ** ** *** *** ***** ** *********** * **** * *** ** ****** ** ** ***** ** ******* ** ******** *** **** ** *** ******** ** ******** *** * ***** ** *** *************?
Needing a vacation to relax, and ended up with more stress than we went with.

1 starWe held confirmed bookings on Flight ** *** on December 30th with paid seats for all members of our family, total 4 seats. During checking we've been confirmed that all members of our family will get a seat because they are blocked for us in the system. When we were on the plane one woman demanded that my 2 years old son released his seat to her because she has a boarding path assigned to that seat. We explained her that we bought all our seats upfront and she has to deal with the flight attendant and figure it out why that seat was double sold to her. But flight attendants, security guys started pushing on us to give up the seat to her. They didn't care that we paid for the seat. They were *********** me and my ******** **** that we will be taken off the plane and taken to the security. ** ******** **** *** ****** *** ******** *** *** ****** ** **** ** *** **** *** ***** ** ***** ** ***** **** ******** At some point flight attendants started telling us that we must make a choice and deal with this situation with the Sunwing representative when we get home. We had to give up under that pressure and gave our seat to that woman. After arriving home we demanded a compensation for this Involuntary denied boarding incident and all inconvenience that we had during our flight by submitting a post-travel complaint. The compensation is applicable when a passenger is denied boarding involuntarily. Since you were accommodated on the flight and not denied boarding, the compensation outlined by Canadian Air Passenger Protection Regulations does not apply in this instance. If in the event, you paid for seat selection - assignment for a specific seat number, and you did not receive, please continue to communicate with the Post Travel agent to request a refund of the fees paid.
