I received a parking ticket on July 10th at 6:24 pm. On the back of the ticket, for appeal instructions, it says "If you believe you received this violation in error or entered in your license plate information incorrectly, please contact Easypark immediately by visiting *************************". I submitted my appeal that night, July 10th. It said "Our typical response time is within 72 hours. However, during our busy season from April 1st to September 30th, it may take us up to 7 business days to get back to you." It is now July 22nd (8th business day), and I have not heard back. When I try to schedule a phone call, the earliest opportunity is in two weeks. The "violation amount" has jumped from $69 to $85 to $98 in the time that I have been waiting for a response. On August 1st the fine amount jumps to $130, and if they reject my appeal they will add on another $15. These practices seem incredibly unfair.Business Response

Dear EasyPark Violations Department,I am writing to dispute Violation Notice #EP3234914284 issued on May 25th, 2025, at 4:50 PM for the lot PB62 - *********************** location.Upon returning to my vehicle, I found the violation notice. I immediately checked my payment records and confirmed that I had made payment for parking at 4:52 PM for 4 hours via the ZipBy app at Lot 62l using my Mastercard for my vehicle (JL2 73G), totaling $18.45. I saw one of your enforcement officers and explained the situation to them. He said that I had a good reason to dispute the violation and that I should fill out the appeal form on your website to dispute the charge, which I did the following day. However, I haven't heard back from you since then. I tried following up through your website, but I still haven't gotten a response. When I try emailing you, it says your email address is invalid. As you can see, my payment was processed only two minutes after the violation was printed. I diligently paid for my parking, and the minimal time difference suggests a timing overlap rather than an intentional non-payment. It's plausible that there was a slight delay due to the meter being far from my parking spot, the system updating, or the enforcement officer's device syncing.I kindly request that you review the timing of my payment against the ticket issuance. I believe this violation should be rescinded, as I fulfilled my obligation to pay for parking. I've attached the proof of payment below.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,******* ********-********Business Response

Good Morning,
Thank you for contacting EasyPark.
We looked through our system and could not locate an appeal form with your email. We do apologize for the delay and have advised our IT team to look into why the form was not successfully submitted.
Based on the details shared and looking into the Zipby system we have confirmed payment was made 2 minutes after the violation was issued. We are aware that there can sometimes be a delay between the plate being scanned and a payment being made through our various payment forms. As the time between the violation issuance and payment is reasonable the violation has been cancelled and is no longer outstanding.
Kind Regards,
EasyPark Client Services.

We live in the ** and was visiting our niece who recently moved to *** and was there for couple of days. We got the parking ticket right before we left. We don't have copies of all the paid tickets with us anymore but have most of them when we were parked there prior to this ticket and is included as proof to show that we weren't trying to avoid paying for parking. We did not extend the parking time since we were leaving. We went back to get something we forgot and got the ticket by the time we came back. Had we known that it would be an issue, we would've extended the parking as it wasn't costing us anything to renew for 2 hours since morning as you can see from the tickets. We returned to the ** that evening. My niece checked with the apartment and was told about a 10 minute ***** period and not to worry about it. So, we didn't do anything more with the ticket. We didn't get any other notifications till we got the letter saying (copy included) we owe $155 now and they will be sending it to collection. I scheduled a call for the first available date of July 4th but didn't get any calls. We appealed online and they denied saying that they don't know when we left. We tried to get a copy of the apartment CCTV recording to prove the time we left but they won't provide unless it is requested by law enforcement. We tried again to schedule another call to mitigate but they cancelled it saying the issue was addressed already. There has been no other notifications till we got the included notice even though they had our phone number and email address. To be honest we didn't even realize the amounts indicated were the amounts we owed on the dates listed. Please ask them to waive the charge as you can see that we paid for parking when we were there and renewed it till few minutes before we got the ticket. Above all it wouldn't have cost us anything to renew for another two hours based on the ticket cost all day. At least ask them to consider a reduced rate. Thank you.Business Response

Good afternoon,
Thank you for contacting EasyPark.
With regards to EP3236008791. The violation was issued at 4:02pm on May 10, 2025. The proof of payment provided shows the last valid session was at 1:58pm on May 10, 2025. Additionally the 2 hour free session is intended for customers going to the restaurant at that location but it appears the are some issues that are allow individuals to use it on more than one occasion on the same day. We'll follow up with our operations team. As explained in our response to the customer, this violation is valid as there was no valid session at the time the violation was issued.

I am rejecting this response because: EasyPark indicated that the last valid session was 1:58 pm which is not accurate. Please see the ticket showing ending time as 3:53pm on May 10 that was included in the attachment. The 2 hour free session may have been intended for customers going to the restaurant at that location but it was not costing us anything to renew it when we were there as you can see. So there was no incentive for us to not renew it. Please at least consider reducing the ticket amount as a goodwill gesture as we were not trying to not pay for parking as you can see from all the parking tickets we provided. Thank you.Sincerely,

Complaint regarding EasyPark ticketing which I regard as predatory after I received a false ticket. I paid for the parking on a meter at their lot correctly and was given a false ticket. They claim that this is a sort of glitch in their processes. The incorrect ticket, that was generated by their fault and due to their equipment and process. The ticket was unreasonably expensive at $69 . I was unable to call the company and had to schedule an appointment which had the earliest date past the date of 2 incremental increases in the fine. The form on website needed to be entered 5 times before it was accepted and even then it didnt say that it was accepted. I had to accept an additional $15 fee just to submit a form to fight the ticket. Based on this information, I submit that EasyPark uses predatory tactics on honest customers. This whole process is unacceptable and unethical. I have forwarded my complaint to the appropriate Vancouver authorities for their unethical business practices EasyPark makes it extremely difficult to fight a false ticket. If they are aware of errors that occur in your system they had better find a way to void tickets automatically and not have the burden of proof placed on drivers. The extra non refundable fee for $15 to fight a ticket is also predatory and unethical. Their practices are just used to discourage people from fighting a ticket!!!I am sure that I am not the only one who complains about their processes. I am also investigating taking them to small claims court to recoup my expenses and telling my story to the media for an expose on their company.Business Response

Please note that the appeal fee is noted and applied if the appeal itself is not successful. With regards to EP3230017406 , our team indicated that these was a network issues with the handheld device and payment was not coming through the wireless device. With cellular networks this can happen and is not something that is with in our control. Once payment was confirmed the violation was void an no additional fees were applied. Customer appealed the violation on June 30 and a response was provided on July 2 advising that the payment was confirmed and the violation was cancelled.
We consider this matter resolved and no additional fees were applied to the appeal.

I live in ******* and visited Vancouver *********************** area on 6/27.On that day, I parked near the *******************. My kid had to take a bathroom break as she had diarrhea, so had to attend to her immediately and I bought some acceptable food and water since she was very tired. This took me some time and after that I stood in line for paying for parking (the line was long and there was only one or 2 parking meters) and by the time I was back, a ticket was issued for 60$ for a 4$ parking fee.Since mine was an emergency and I paid the meter before knowing that there was a ticket issued, I was hoping that the parking service agency (*********************) would be considerate enough to reverse my fine. When I filed an appeal (as they mentioned in the ticket) I even accepted the $15 fee in case appeal fails since I was confident that mine was a genuine case of a parent with a sick child but the response really shocked me. Not only did they have no empathy but I was asked to pay $60 + $15 + tax with a template response. There was also warnings that if I don't pay by certain date, then the amount escalates up to $130. I wanted to bring this to your notice on how the tourists are being treated in the city of Vancouver. Not saying parking violations are ok but there are scenarios that people (especially those who are travelling out of the country) with kids experience and there should be some exceptions that always should make tourist feel they are welcome. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.I request your genuine help in this matter and also provide a strong guidance to this agency in the future not to harass tourist with genuine cases for parking violations Violation number - EP3232100953 License Plate number - ******* Issue date - 6/27/2025 12:42 PM Parking lot - PB62 Thanks,****** *******Customer Answer

Good Morning,
Violation EP3232100953 was issued as license plate ******* was scanned on site at ****************************** at 12:41pm with out a valid parking session. The violation was issued at 12:42pm and the patroller provided images of the vehicle on site. One of the images shows both meters on site with signs also advising of apps as a payment option. At the time of the scan, and image capture, both meters were not in active use. Payment was eventually made but this was done at 1:19pm. The vehicle was on site for 38 minutes before payment was made which is why the violation was deemed valid and communication was sent to the customer advising of this. As payment has been made for the violation, we consider this matter resolved.

I was requesting the cancellation of my parking violation ticket for the following three reasons:Firstly, the parking lot (*****************) is located beneath a road overpass and is undoubtedly a government property of the City of Vancouver. After parking my vehicle, I immediately opened the PayByPhone app on my phone to pay the parking fee. Since ********** is a government-approved parking payment platform, and nearly all government-owned parking spaces accept payments via this platform, I had no reason to doubt its validity. Additionally, upon opening the app, it accurately displayed a designated parking space number. Therefore, I proceeded to pay the parking fee without hesitation.Secondly, I did pay the full parking fee which has a payment record in my PayByPhone app. It clearly shows the parking fee I paid at the specified time, recording that I made a payment for a total of four hours to the City of Vancouver. This evidence demonstrates that I had no intention of illegally parking on City of Vancouver's property.Thirdly, as you mentioned, there was indeed a signpost and a payment machine, but just on only one side of the parking lot displaying "EasyPark". However, there were no signs near other parkers' exit, which indicating that payments should be made exclusively to EasyPark, nor were there any EasyPark payment machines. That only signpost was located on the opposite side of the parking lot from where I parked. I attempted to approach it and noticed a small green logo from a distance, which I mistakenly assumed was the PayByPhone logo. As a result, I did not proceed closer to verify the details and left, believing that I had already paid for parking.Lastly, I would like to complain EasyPark that my appeal is still ongoing and I have not yet received a satisfactory response, but I received a letter from collections department stating that I owe $114. It is not reasonable to collect the amount if the appeal file has not been confirmed as closed.Business Response

Hello,
After reviewing the appeal details, it was confirmed that the violation has been reduced to $15.25 equivalent to the daily max rate for *********************. This is a one-time reduction only as a courtesy.
The customer had already paid the reduced amount as well on June 24th.
This matter is now resolved.

On 06/14/2025, we went to *********************** and purchased 2hour parking at first. Then before the expiration, we bought another 2 hours parking. Since the weather that day was not very satisfactory, we didnt purchase whole day parking as we usually do. Just on our way back to the parking lot, when it was before the expiration, my 9 year old son had a sudden stomach ache and nausea. We managed to find the closest washroom and waited there until he felt bit comfortable. This delayed our time and found the overtime parking ticket.I understand the enforcement officer just did his job, but he didnt know what happened there. So I would like to ask them to cancel this ticket based on humanitarian factor, considering the same situation as a concerned mother. Thank you!Business Response
Date: 27/06/2025
Hello,
Thank you for contacting EasyPark Vancouver.
Upon reviewing, the violation was issued because your parking session had expired. At this time, we are only able to confirm a valid payment from 12:00PM to 1:59PM at Lot 62 - ************************;on 6/14/2025.
As these are unattended facilities, we are unable to cancel this violation as we cannot confirm how long your vehicle was parked without a valid payment made. Our lots do not have a ***** period and payment is required the entire time your vehicle is parked.
After a careful review, your violation has now been reduced to $6.50. This is the equivalent to the daily maximum rate at Lot 62 - *********************** minus what you paid for parking.
Please know this is an educational reduction. In the future, a violation issued under similar circumstances might not be reduced.
This reduced rate will be valid for two business days. To expedite your payment, please visit our online payment portal at *****************************************************. Should you choose not to pay this violation, it will continue to escalate and we will contact you by letter at a future date. Please note that after 90 days, all violations will be passed on to third party collections.Regards,
EasyPark *************** team

Nature of the Complaint:I received a violation notice (#EP3238201183) from EasyPark for parking at Lot 50 - 2211 Kingsway on June 16, 2025. As instructed by the business (********************************), I used their in-store iPad to register my license plate ******** for complimentary parking.Despite following the exact process required, I was issued a ticket. EasyPark claims they did not receive the registration, yet the business does not allow customers to verify whether the registration was successful, and EasyPark refuses to check for similar plate inputs or partial matches.Instead of fairly cancelling the ticket, EasyPark offered a reduced rate of $8.95 as an educational warning, which I believe is inappropriate. I did my part as a customer and should not pay any amount for a system or communication failure.I am seeking full cancellation of the violation.Business Response

Violation #: EP3229218277 I am submitting this complaint due to EasyParks lack of response regarding a parking violation that was not issued to me or my vehicle. I reside in *********, **, and was not in the area where this violation was issued on the date in question. I have documentation to prove my location.I submitted a dispute through EasyParks online system in mid-May. Since then, I have followed up four times with no response. I am very concerned that this error could proceed to collections or negatively affect my credit rating.I am requesting EasyPark to acknowledge my dispute, investigate the issue, and confirm that I am not liable for this violation. The continued lack of communication is unacceptable and is causing undue stress.Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.Business Response

EasyPark Vancouver operates on a modus operandi to defraud its customers. The Zipby app which collects payment for the parking, indicates that the parking is extended successfully but no record is found on the app. The consumer then receives a violation ticket with exorbitant violation sum! Because there is no record on the app, Easy Park easily disclaims that the parking was extended. I am submitting this complaint to ********************** as the ***** representative mentioned that many other customers complained about the same issue. This tells you that Easy Park knows about this issue and continues to take advantage of this issue to charge violation sums to consumers who are stuck in this situation and misled by the app! The app misleads customers to collect violation amount. This is not my first time facing the same issue with Easy Park. The first time I received a violation amount, I could not prove this as there was no record on the app. I now took screenshots of the technical issue notification that did not allow me to extend my parking.Business Response

Hello,
After carefully reviewing the violation EP3237301392, it was confirmed that this violation was valid because it was issued at 7:17PM and the payment for parking was valid until 6PM only.
The vehicle was found overstaying for 1 hour and 17 minutes without a valid session.
Unfortunately, we cannot cancel this violation as it stands valid at this time.
Furthermore, we have requested for additional proof to support your appeal on June 6th but have not received any documentation from you. Because of that, we are now closing this ticket as we consider it resolved.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: BBB has failed to investigate the claim made by the app company operating ticket purchases. BBB accepted EasyPark's claim which obviously will show that the parking was not extended while the ***** app representative clearly told me that the penalty should be waived as they admitted there was technical issues on the app which indicated that the parking was extended but no payment was deducted. This misled the customer that the parking was extended. **********************'s recourse is against liquidated damages or srvice credit refund from ***** and should not proceed to penalise customers who were midled by the techical issues of the app. EasyPark knows about this issue and fails to investigate as it financially benefits them to collect exhorbitant penalties from its customers! ******************** is not seeking the rightful explanation. Kindly advise if my recourse should be against Zipby app.
Sincerely,
