AMJ Campbell delivered two large pieces of furniture. The delivery crew, Tyler and Adam, were very courteous, professional, efficient and helped with ensuring the pieces of furniture were in good order. The advance notification service regardig the delivery time and process was excellent.

We hired AMJ out of ******* to move us back to ******* in November 2023. A huge thank you to *********, the driver and his crew. Excellent job. Professional and personable. I wouldn't hire anyone else. My parents used AMJ decades ago and the level of service has continued at a high standard. Thanks again for everything.

My husband and I had such a devastating experience with this company. A mover ***** several of our belongings, and after notifying our coordinator and leaving a bad ****** review, the president and managing partner started to ******** us via email. I would tell everyone I know to avoid this company at all costs.

Mr. *** ******** and Ms. ****** ******* utilized the moving services of ***** *** ***** ****** and AMJ Campbell Winnipeg for their relocation to Vancouver, B.C. in late July, early August of 2023. All signed documentation pertaining to this move shows that all cartons, furniture and miscellaneous items that were inventoried and requested to be relocated by the consumer at the origin residence in Winnipeg arrived in Vancouver and delivered to the consumers new residence. The responsibility to ensure that all items have been delivered is with the consumer, a “check list” is provided by the mover to ensure all items are accounted for and any items not accounted for are noted on this document and signed by the consumer. There were no exceptions taken, in other words all inventoried items at origin arrived at the new residence in Vancouver. The issue with the moving consumers is that a very serious criminal allegation of theft of jewelry was made by Ms. ******* on the completion of the move and she identified a suspect as an employee of AMJ Winnipeg. Attached you will find a document prepared by ***** *** ***** ******, the provider of the transit coverage, that outlines the various terms and conditions of the coverages available, the moving consumer chose the recommended coverage “Cargo Protection.” On third page of this document you will note the “Carrier Liability Conditions,” the second paragraph down notes the following; “The following goods are excluded from cargo protection; keys, glasses, watches, jewelry, coins, stamps, documents, currency and precious stones or metals.” Under the “Terms and Conditions of Carriage, Personal Items,” section, it states, “In addition to personal items excluded from cargo protection (ie. jewelry), it is highly recommended that you also carry with you articles such as medications, and small personal electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, tablets GPS, etc…The details of this coverage is also included with the actual moving contract signed between the carrier and the consumer, the ***** *** ***** Bill of Lading. This document was reviewed and given to the moving consumers at the time of the consultation process by their personal moving consultant *** ******. On Aug. 4th, 2023 Ms. ******* wrote an email to *** ******, copy attached, in which Ms. ******* stated, “in general, everything went well,” however she wanted to advise *** of the alleged theft, she went on to state, “I understand high worth jewelry items are meant to be packed by us and I did pack my top high worth items prior to the move. There were a few other jewelry items that were packed by the movers” and she goes on to say that “two “strategically” selected gold chains are missing.” You will note on the “Cargo Protection” document that there are no distinctions made for high value jewelry or low value jewelry, nor are there distinctions made on the contract. What logical explanation would there be for such a distinction to be made by this consumer, especially when she identifies the alleged missing gold chains as, “strategically selected,” further on in her email she describes herself as “indescribably sad” at the experience, certainly these comments imply a significant value of either sentimentally or monetarily. In this email of the 4th of August, the consumer asks *** what steps can be taken, “do you recommend calling the police?” *** responds, (copy attached) “unfortunately as explained in the home we do not cover jewelry,” *** goes on to inform Ms. ******* to call the police. As previously mentioned this is a criminal allegation against an individual, the proper authorities to investigate any criminal activity are the police. According to Ms. ****** the incident was reported to the police, we will also point out that AMJ Winnipeg contacted the police as well on this issue, file # ********* and their response was that there was no evidence to support the allegation, Ms. ******* nor Mr. ******** witnessed the alleged theft, all that was provided to police was speculation and the police indicated the case had no witnesses and therefore was without merit. As to the serious nature of this complaint taken by AMJ Campbell and ***** *** *****, both companies conducted their own investigation, subjecting this employee to numerous questions of which the employee denied all allegations, attached you will find the response from ***** *** ***** ******’s Director of Agency Services and Procurement, ***** ******, “we agree that your packer was falsely accused.” AMJ Campbell’s investigation was similar to the police, there was no evidence that, first the jewelry existed and second there were no witnesses to any theft. The issue at hand here is the use of social media by Mr. ******** and Ms. ******* as leverage to solicit compensation from ***** *** ***** and AMJ Campbell, after knowing all of the above these moving consumers still went on social media, and made false, untrue and malicious statements about AMJ Campbell with the sole intention of harming our reputation. This post was responded to, Mr. ******** and Ms. *******, did not like the response of the investigations or the post. Mr. ******** just recently indicated by email, that he had further intentions to publish allegations regarding this issue, “to get to the bottom of this and make it right”, he went on to say he wanted to “warn potential customers that jewelry theft is an unfortunate possibility of using AMJ” it was at this time, that Mr. ******** was cautioned of the definition of slander and libel, which Ms. ******* has referred to in her post to the Better Business Bureau as a threat. AMJ Campbell is an Accredited member of the Better Business Bureau since 1981 with an A+ rating, we respectfully ask that this untrue, false and malicious post be taken down, there is no evidence of theft according to the police and the so called threat was an attempt to protect our brand from unscrupulous consumers such as Ms. ******* and Mr. ********.

I was skeptical when moving from Victoria to ****** **** **. Who do you hire? The company with the lowest or highest price? I met with a few and the selling factor was Bruce B*** from AMJ Campbell from Victoria. He went over every detail, answered every question and concern. Glynis was amazing with her knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism. Team arrived to load. Jessie, Ryan and *Kramer). Friendly, quick and very careful with every detail. They worked as a team and had tge truck loaded in no time. Ryan, Lizzie, James and Daniel dropping off in ****** ****. Outstanding! Lizzie! Can't thank you enough for keeping my anxiety level under control. James and Daniel!! You two are a great team and kept us laughing. Ryan. Professionalism through and through. Found a scratch on TV stand...took pictures and was ready to send someone to fix it...we declined his generous offer..cant barely see it. Ryan also was able to repair my antique phonograph that had been accidentally turned on its side. All in all...I would highly recommed tge entire team at AMJ Campbell. You may pay a bit more...but aren't your belongings and piece of mind worth it?

Our shipment was two weeks late with very little communication from Debbie our sole contact with AMJ. It was only after I attempted to reach Senior management that Winnipeg operations contacted us to say our load would be sent soon. ** *** ** ********* **** ** * ***** *** **** *** ******* ********* ** **** *** ******** ** **** ******* *** *** ******** ** * ****** The driver that delivered said he was flown in to pick up a truck and at the last minute was told to go to Edmonton to pick up our load. They would not deliver until paid in full for this horrible service. I have attempted to contact Debbie and Darren in Winnipeg for recompense to no avail. Would never recommend this company.

Lost our $900 ****** ********* during our move, and the only reply from AMJ is the missing **** is not in the movers truck, and in the end claims dept even said “**** ***** *** ** **** **** **** ***** *** ***** *** ****” now im being accused of ******** my own stuff, or that i take it as im *****. Very bad, unprofessional dealing with customers, The driver carried the **** to the truck and even asked”What is in this box, the **** is still in the original mailing box. **** gone nowhere to be found. Operations Manager sent the driver to our house to help us find it in our house. Would you trust the driver of the mover inside your house? We opened the garage thats the only part of our house he is allowed.

We have done an investigation and spoken to the crew members on site. This move went from surrey to Harrison hot springs in one day. The truck was loaded at origin in the morning and delivered in the afternoon . This truck was completely empty at destination. The driver verifies that everything that was loaded was delivered. This driver has worked for our company for 3 1/2 years with no issues . We did send the driver back to help the customer look for the item as he delivered and he was refused entry. We advised the customer that if they believed the item was stolen by the crew to please report to the police. We do not believe that to be the case but will support the investigation any way possible. The customer has also sent a text to the driver this pass weekend stating they are missing their tinfoil. This was not packed by us but by the customers themselves. We strongly believe everything we loaded from the house was delivered.

The big con- **** ****** * **** *** ****** ** *** They quoted us incorrectly, even admitting that they did, and then held our items hostage until we agreed to pay the final bill, which was $1700 more than what we were quoted. Holding hostage meaning that we got the final bill after they moved us out and they had all of our items, before they moved us into our new place. And they wouldn’t move us in until we paid the bill. In theory that makes sense, as you wouldn’t want to do a move in job before someone pays you for it in case they refuse to pay. But when you’re in a position of disputing a charge, but having to move in on the date *** **** * **** *** * ***** ***** *** ****** **** ** ** ****** ** * ***** ***** *** ******* *** ******* the customer has very little leverage. Our move consultant told us she quoted us based on a local move and was not informed of how to quote a long distance move, which speaks to bad training and communication on the part of AMJ Campbell. I don’t fault our consultant for that. I appreciated her honesty about the situation. We were also overcharged for packing, they mistakenly charged us for packing that we had done ourselves before AMJ even arrived. Given how badly we were quoted and for the overcharge error, our consultant told us we would get a reimbursement of $450. This was promised to us in June. It is now October and no sign of the reimbursement. I have had fo chase up our consultant for 3 months, she is chasing up the reimbursement internally and has “asked again and again” according to her latest text message, but it hasn’t come through. So basically I don’t trust that what you’re told by your consultant is what’s actually going to happen. It sounds like people internally aren’t on the same page. The packing up job was fine, although they did pack up scraps of garbage which added to the volume of packing, which is how we ended up getting charged. We reported this to our move consultant as well. Not sure if that was on purpose but thought it was worth mentioning. The move and the unloading was good enough. No real damage done to our items. Although the move out crew had a big fight between the move our crew and my building manager. Which resulted in a move out fine for us from the building. There’s likely two sides to that story, but again thought I would mention it. The move in was fine. Quick enough, no damage, and got everything put back together. ** **** ******* **** **** **** *** *** *** **** ***** ** ***** ** ***** ** ********** **** *** **** ******* ***** ***** ******* ***** *** *** **** * **** ****** ***** So just beware.

Hello ****, We do apologize for the delay in getting this refund to you, unfortunately since this was a registered long distance move with ***** *** ***** the refund had to come from them and somehow it was missed, we contacted them again on Wednesday and they have confirmed that the refund has been processed to you. Your other comment on our consultant Debbie is incorrect she has been in the moving industry for over 20 years and is very well versed in all types of moving Long Distance, Local and International and this was always set up as a long distance move so I am not sure where the confusion came in. Once again we apologize for the delay in getting you your refund.

      Customer Response

      03/12/2021

Thanks for the response. And I can confirm that after months of waiting for it, I did receive the refund, the same day that I posted this review. I do appreciate that it finally came through though so thank you. To clarify, my comment about Debbie is not “incorrect” as you put it in your response. I was simply reiterating the facts, and recounted exactly what Debbie told us. Which was that she didn’t know how long distance moves were charged. No interpretations of the facts, just the facts themselves. I think you calling my comment “incorrect” says more about you (the person responding to these reviews) as well as your company, specifically in how you see and treat your paying customer. Especially since mine is not the only response where you called your paying customer “incorrect” or “wrong”. Are you seeing these reviews as something *** **** ** ******? Or as an opportunity to improve your customer service? I would suggest you use it as an opportunity to improve, if you aren’t already. Again, I’m not going to assume anything here as I haven’t in any of my comments thus far. Just pointing out the facts. Thanks.

Over all we had a great experience on the move out end of the move(from a condo in new Westminster) . Some issues with the move in how ever. We received our goods as planned with a slight increase in the cost( weigh scale receipts included). Not an issue cause they are very very clear to explain that the actual weight will be used! Had some broken stuff mainly due to the packing which was performed by the move out team. Not unexpected! But we also had 5 unmarked boxes and are missing a couple more. I have tried the customer service lines and visited the Calgary NE office to see if our left over boxes ever showed up. They Lack in the department that they are they for, little to no effort to help the customer. ** ***** ** **** **** ***** ****** ** ******* ** ***  * ******* *** ***** **** **** ** ** ******* **** *** ** *** **** *** ***** ***** **** **** ** *** ***** **** *** ******** ** *** ** **** *** ********* ** * ******* ******** ** ** *** *** **** ** ***  We are not missing anything critical but are missing one box from our bedroom closet with binders of Photos that can not be replaced. To summarize the packing crew and the trucker and his second were outstanding! Friendly, competent and understanding, these rate 5. The customer service group rate a 1, cause I honestly believe they never cared about our missing boxes and never looked anywhere for them. ****
