    In July of 2020, I began ongoing attempts to cancel my membership with Steel Fitness Riverport. Because of COVID, I was unable to go in person to this business. I called every week and left messages for several months and was never called back. In December of 2020, I contacted my bank in order to terminate payments (I was still being charged monthly by said business). After receiving a new debit card, Steel Fitness Riverport managed to obtain my new information and continued charging me. Once again, I contacted my bank to stop payment. Steel Fitness RIverport sent my account to a collection agency (**** **** ******** *********** ***) for $13.87 - I think contacted my bank again, who in turn contacted the business and was able to terminate my membership. I still have heard nothing from the business, even as I have contacted them for confirmation of my membership and cancellation of their debt collection. I continue to receive bills from **** ****.

    I started my fitness journey back in 2022 and the process seemed to be seemless, Jamie an old manager made me feel comfortable and encouraged my journey introducing me to classes I could take and always welcoming me with a warm smile and happy to help. Fast forward to the new year where she even asked me to volunteer and be featured in a spotlight feature of the gyms social media because of my consistency, I was so happy and grateful to be recognized it made me feel like my fitness and new gym family were blending. Now let’s fast forward to present time, the toxic environment that has been recently cultivated is rather disturbing the lack of equipment, safety measures for the machines, pieces missing, treadmills only 6/12 work functionally, it’s just lets say gone to shit. Not to mention the customer service recently there was a shift in management and I’m extremely disappointed because as a customer I went with a concern to the staff and it was never addressed properly my calls went unanswered I was left on hold when I called and decided to drop my membership to only now finding out I’m still being charged even after discontinuing and signing paperwork. I’m writing because I hope that someone reading will care enough to change the culture of that environment because it’s just gonna be a constant turnover of memberships and it’s sad because there is people there that deserve better like the trainers and class trainers they kept my spirits and kept me coming back but I did decide to leave because my $35 a month deserved better then me hoping around trying to figure out what treadmill will work for me today or if I was going to get ignored with my concerns. I’m extremely disappointed in the management style this manger decided to handle my experience. It’s now been 3 months and I haven’t been contacted by the GM or managers.
