To whom it my concern,On 11/20/2020 we paid Envision EMI LLC $2,595 for a tuition (in full) for our son, *************************** to attend a residential program at University of **********, *******. The program was scheduled for August 1st through the 6th 2021.They emailed us on on 05/26/2021 that the location was changed from ******* to the San Jose ********* hotel due to COVID. We did not pay for a program at a hotel we paid for a program at the prestigious **************** This in my opinion was a bait and switch. We called and asked for our money back. They refused and said that we could re-enroll our Son but the 2022 year was already full. So we were forced to enroll him in 2023 program. We started to get a big time SCAM vibe from this company and we did not feel comfortable leaving our son with them overnight. We called again and asked for a refund and once again they refused and said that we could just enroll our son in the 2024 non residential program. We once again reluctantly agreed to reschedule for the 2024 program. Today 9/29/23, we got a call from Envision EMI LLC stating that we needed to pay an additional $600 because our son was older now and his tuition went up due to his age. I refused. We are basically being forced to send our child to a program because this company is holding our tuition hostage. To add insult to injury, they are now asking for more money to even allow him to attend the 2024 program. We have tried every diplomatic option we could dealing with this company and they have thrown up road blocks every step of the way. We would like a full refund of our tuition prepayment. We do not feel comfortable sending our child to this SCAM of a program. We have been going back and forth with them for the last 3 years and we do not know what else to do. Please help! Don't take my word for it, look at all of the 1 star reviews on BBB and ****. It amazes me that they still have an A+ rating with you guys. Please re-evaluate this company and help protect other parents from getting scammed. Thank you,***************

      Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. Our records are showing that your son was a no show to our 2021 PAT program, which means that no refund is due per the terms and conditions agreed to at the time of enrollment. As a courtesy, we did make multiple exceptions and agreed to transfer the funds paid toward the same program at Berkley in 2022, the EXS program in 2023 after he aged out of PAT, and the EXS program in 2024 so that you could still utilize them. Over these several years, our prices have increased and EXS is a more expensive program than PAT, therefore the $600 tuition difference is due per the transfer terms and conditions.

As an additional courtesy, we are willing to waive the $600 if your son would like to attend EXS in 2024. If not, the tuition remains nonrefundable.
Thank you and have a safe school year.

My child attended the program in June 2023. After the program we were offered the option of a 10% refund because of an activity not being available, when we reached out we let them know that she also hadnt been assigned to the program we had requested and was given confirmation of her choice and were not able to move her. We were told they would look into solutions for us on top of the 10% initially offered. We have made multiple attempts at contacting someone to help us but are constantly told that the only ones who can approve are the managers, but they seem to be always in meetings and they never called us back or responded to any emails.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The conversation that I had with ******* in reference to the refund was a verbal conversation where she advised she would send confirmation emails, documenting the conversation, but refused to do so. This exactly falls in line with what every other complaint has been about this business and I truly now understand why they fraud their customers. the reason there was a response was because of the Better Business Bureau complaint otherwise they follow the pattern of not responding, but I never expected anything less. Based on their response, I assume there is nothing else that I have that I can push forward to rectify the wrongs that they brought towards us or the fact that I paid for a product that I did not receive in full

What do you mean you have not heard back from me.  You clear note I am not satisfied and by closing the file with this poor excuse you are taking the side of the company.  This is ridiculous.  You guys are in place for the consumer but are clearly protecting them.

I enrolled my son in envision law and trial program palto alto CA 6/28-7/07/2023. My son is a top student in his High school with a 4.0 GP. we trusted envision to provide appropriate education that enrich his law career and provide him with experience for his future law career. The program required an expensive tution fees , I have paid $4504.00 for my son enrollment. but that was not the case, As per contract the program was supposed to be taught by ************ university law professors, The program wasn't taught by law professors, it was taught by college students with minimum experience. Envision stated that the program will be taught by ********* LAW PROFESSORS in their brochure. There was no internet for him to do his school work or for contact. It was a very disorganized check in process , untidy rooms and complete unprofessional environment. He felt neglected and unsafe in the program. I called envision staff and nobody got in contact with us . I emailed envision and they didn't respond to the email. This lead to my son calling me and requesting that i pick him up immediately. I drove 800 miles to pick him up. He spent only 24 hours there in the worst learning experience he encountered. I would like my sons tuition to be refunded less the day he spent there.

Thank you for reaching out. Our records are showing that we attempted to reach you on multiple occasions and are happy to clarify our program further for you. We’ve attached a copy of the brochure that you received, inviting your son to our Intensive Law and Trial program. While it does mention how we offer lectures from ******** Law School professors as part of the curriculum, it does not state anywhere that our classes are taught by them. These lectures occur starting on Day 3, as part of the “Professor Insights” portion of the program, which your son did not stay to experience.
Since he didn’t attend long enough to experience the full program, including the ******** lectures that we promised and delivered, we respectfully decline your request for a refund. Thank you and have a safe school year.

I am rejecting this response because: The information they provided is not true, We were never contacted by envision, not once for my complaints to be addressed. all of this is lies within their organization,  They didnt provide the service they sold and promised, There was never any experienced ******** teachers to teach my son in the program, it was the worst experience we had. My son felt unsafe within this completely disorganized program,  this is a quote from their law and trial brochure indicating ******** university professors teaching the program.

" Intensive Law & Trial allows you to immerse yourself in the theory and practice of law and to develop a roadmap for becoming a lawyer. At this 10-day program, you'll be exposed to the practice of law, legal rhetoric, and ethics from preeminent legal professionals, including ************ School professors. You'll also develop and practice essential legal skills, such as making impactful opening statements and closing arguments, preparing cases, and readying witnesses for cross-examination."

I signed my son up for the national security program July 10, 2023 In Baltimore which was recommended to him by his high school in **** Texas. The program cost was 3434.00 and I added the travel protection plan as well. My 17 year old son was to be meet by an Envision personal at baggage claim. On July 9 my sons direct flight from Boston to Baltimore was diverted to Philadelphia and then finally canceled and stranding my son in Baltimore due to the airline having crew issues not weather. My son was due into Baltimore at 3 pm . At 9 pm that night I was emailing Envision to let them know the situation. Envision had no idea****** wasn’t picked up so disorganized, they said they would call so I could talk to someone regarding ****** not being able to get to Baltimore until Tuesday night, no one called emailed nothing . It seems Envision only wants the money and the programs themselves are not worth the nearly 4K you spend. Now it has been 3 weeks and the insurance protection will not cover the cost of the program that my son couldn’t attend. Envision doesn’t respond at all when they say they will. I have called and emailed several times asking for a refund of 3434.00$. I was told that if ****** was hijaked he would have been covered with a refund?? Though my 17 year old son couldn’t rent a car nor get a hotel due to his age and no airline could get him to Baltimore score Tuesday evening. I feel like he was hijaked . Envision truly seems to be a scam and every time I call I get sent to a new person who tells me exactly what I want promised to have someone get back to me I asked for a copy of ******* registration several times as they wiped his account AFTER I called to tell them he never arrived. I have never received the information. I would like a full refund of 3434.00$ Envision doesn’t provide you with direct contacts that are supposed to be supervising the program Your child is in.

On 8/15/2023 I received the email that is attached from Envision stating they would refund me and resolve my complaint. On 8/28/2023 after still not receiving my refund I contacted Envision again and was told that they could not honor that now and needed to wait for “****” whom they would not give me his last name only that he is the head of the national security leadership program my son was to attend at University of ********. I was told they had no idea when or if he would follow up

Thank you for reaching out. While we do provide supervision for your child once they have arrived at our program, air transportation to it is not provided or included in the price of tuition, and as such we are not responsible for them while they are in transit.
We appreciate your frustration, particularly that your travel insurance claim was denied, and as a courtesy would like to offer you either a 50% tuition refund of $1717 OR a 100% transfer of the $3434 toward our 2024 National Security program. Please let us know what you would prefer and we will start processing it for you right away. Thank you and have a safe summer.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Wnvision offers big up from airport and then return to airport for an extra charge which I purchased.  I am upset that the service I purchased from then  airport pick up is their responsibility if the child doesn’t arrive.  Also I request a full refund of the total tuition price as my son is a senior now and will not need to attend next summer.  The insurance company Envision uses to sell trip disruption insurance denied this claim. How can Envision use an insurance company that denies a cancelled flight as a trip disruption.  This is exactly why parents buy such.  If envision sells transportation pick up car to and from the program then yes they should be held responsible to know when a child doesn’t get picked up by the company they hire. Please explain .

Here is the proof that I purchased shuttle service from Envision for ******* pickup at airport.  How can Envision say they are not responsible for the student when they offer shuttle service as an optional purchase service? Also an email confirming that had no idea ****** never arrived.  Also with how travel has been in the US how can the trip cancellation disruption insurance I purchased not cover when a flight is cancelled? Parents will not send their students from out of state or international once they are aware the trip disruption insurance doesnt cover full tuition if the flights are cancelled due to crew as ******* was with southwest letter stating this, parents will not sign as this is a very expensive program and basically the trip disruption only covers the worst possible situations ie hijaking death from car accidents, terrorism. Parents will also not be happy to sign up once they know Envision doesnt take responsibility of scholars who are all minors until they arrive even though the offer shuttle service from airports?? So when minors dont arrive to the shuttle no one is notified at least???? These are all minors and parents entrust Envision cares for their child not just the tuition which my son worked so hard to save for and now is out 3434.00$ and is a senior this year so he can not attend next summer.

My daughter was enrolled in Envision's National Youth Leadership Forum Medicine Program held at the University of **********, *******, June *****, 2023. Tuition for this program was $3294. In short, the program failed to deliver what it advertised. Students were supposed to be given courses taught by medical professionals that provided information and developed skills for a career in the medical field. They were supposed to attend workshops and receive first hand training at hospitals. In actuality, the course was a disorganized mess. So much so that one of the guest instructors commented as such. Much to guest instructor's dismay, they did not realize their microphone was on so all the students and staff heard the comment. Envision was quick to email parents stating that the instructor was unprofessional and would not return. In actuality, the instructor stated the truth. The program failed to follow the advertised curriculum. Students were left unattended to play sports rather than receive medical training, some instructors were not professionally qualified in medicine, and some courses did not start on time or at all. Additionally, students were kicked out of the campus dining facility and forced to eat out side, further showing a lack of coordination and organization by Envision. I contacted the staff to advise them that my daughter would be leaving the course early and was informed of safety protocols for her departure. Those protocols were not followed. The morning of her departure, she could not find any of the staff to check out despite calling provided contact information. I have made multiple calls per week since her return seeking a refund and am told I will be contacted by Envision enrollment yet no one returns my calls. My daughter had attended a previous Envision program and it was professional and fulfilling so she was excited for this program but it was a complete waste. I seek a full refund.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/08/2023

Thank you for reaching out. Envision Advisors are not medical doctors and are not advertised as such, though the program does go on site visits where scholars are able to interact with real medical doctors and scholars are able to interact with medical professional guest speakers most evenings of the program. First hand training at hospitals is also something that isn't advertised or offered, though training in procedures such as sutures is offered during the program.
We are sorry to hear that the program did not meet your expectations in other ways as well, and those concerns have been addressed with our staff. In light of them and your daughters early departure from the program on 6/18, we have processed a refund for the days she did not attend it. (6/18-6/22). It was calculated as follows: $3294/9 days=$366 per day. $366*5=$1830.
Your refund of $1830 has been processed to the original form of payment, please let us know if you do not receive it in the next 7-10 business days. Thank you and have a safe summer.

We signed our 17-year-old daughter up for the **** medicine program. Knowing that she often has health issues, we purchased the $299 Full Tuition Refund program (***). We paid over $4000 in tuition for the program. On the morning of our travel to the program, Sunday, June 25, 2023, our daughter did not feel well. I emailed two different addresses associated with the program to inform them that our daughter would not attend and request a refund. I did not receive any response until Monday afternoon when I received a voicemail from the person running the program in New York, *****************************, who was unaware of any of my messages, and was still wondering if my daughter was going to attend the program. Envision was expecting my daughter on Sunday afternoon, had no ************** their email and did not notify me that my daughter didn't show for 24 hours. What if we had brought her to ******** and something happened to her? How does a program like this not account for a missing student, a minor, for 24 hours? I replied by text to inform her that I had canceled our daughters participation in the program by email over the weekend because she was not feeling well. She responded Yes I will update the file and a refund will be processed On Friday, I received an email from the admissions team at envision. They denied my request for a refund because I did not cancel the day before the program was supposed to start. The contract it states that the *** allow(s) you to cancel for any reason prior to your travel and receive a full refund of your program fees (less the *** and any non refundable fees). I have the right to cancel because my daughter did not attend any part of the program.

      Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. While we appreciate that last minute illnesses do occur, yours unfortunately is not covered by the Full Refund Program that you purchased. We've attached a copy of your enrollment confirmation email, including the terms and conditions that were agreed to in order to enroll in our program. The Full Refund Program terms are as follows: FULL REFUND PROGRAM (***) For an additional fee,************ offers additional protection to your travel insurance for your investment through the Full Refund Program (***). Should you cancel your trip after the 24-hour grace period  from registration up until the day before your programs arrival day, or in the event that your program is cancelled as a result of Uncontrollable Circumstances (as defined below), the *** protects your investment by reimbursing you for 100% of the amounts you've paid in, minus the *** enrollment fee and any other Non-Refundable Fees. To be eligible for this additional protection, your payment for the *** fee must be purchased within 14 days of your registration, and your program must be cancelled 1 or more days before your departure date.

The cost of *** will be specified at the time of registration. Please note, the *** fee is non-refundable after 24 hours of initial *** purchase confirmation. Additionally, the Non-Refundable Fees listed in this document are not refundable at any time, and the *** does not cover Non-Refundable Fees. Additionally, *** does not cover penalties or unrecoverable costs associated with any air or other travel arrangements not provided by ************. In the event that there are multiple registrations from each family, *** should be purchased for each participant (it does not apply to the household). *** is provided by ************ itself and is not an insurance product. It is possible to purchase both *** to enable you to cancel for any reason prior to your travel and receive a full refund of your program fee (less the *** and any nonrefundable fees) and the Tuition and Travel Protection Plan for insurance coverage and non-insurance assistance services during the program.

In order to be eligible for a refund, cancellations must be received at least 1 day before the programs arrival day. Unfortunately since, as you stated, your cancellation was made on the programs arrival day, we are unable to provide a refund of your tuition. We are able, however, to transfer it to our **** program at no additional charge.

Please let us know if you would like to do so and we will start the transfer process for you. Thank you and have a safe summer.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the company is not addressing the ambiguity in the contract.  In one place the contract says that the *** allows you to cancel "up until the day before your programs arrival day," in another place it states that purchase of *** will enable you to cancel for any reason prior to your travel and receive a full refund of your program fee (less the *** and any nonrefundable fees)".

I didn't write this contract; the company did. I cancelled prior to travel and am due a full refund (less the *** fee).

      Regards,

Thank you for reaching out. As we previously responded, here is the full text of the Full Refund Program, which is different than what you have included in your complaint. The second sentence clearly states that cancellation must be received at minimum the day before the program's arrival day in order to be eligible for a refund. The third sentence reiterates those same terms. The terms do not contain a sentence that states purchase of *** will enable you to cancel for any reason prior to your travel and receive a full refund of your program fee (less the *** and any nonrefundable fees)" without simultaneously stating that cancellation must be received 1 or more days before the program starts in order to be eligible for said refund. Therefore, we respectfully stand by the fact that the contract is not ambiguous.

Unfortunately this means that the tuition is not eligible for refund. We remain happy to transfer it to 2024 instead as stated in our previous offer.
We've also attached a PDF of the terms that were agreed to at the time of enrollment and emailed as part of your enrollment confirmation. The below paragraph is a copy of those terms for easier reference.

FULL REFUND PROGRAM (***) For an additional fee, ************ offers additional protection to your travel insurance for your investment through the Full Refund Program (***). Should you cancel your trip after the 24-hour grace ****** from registration up until the day before your programs arrival day, or in the event that your program is cancelled as a result of Uncontrollable Circumstances (as defined below), the *** protects your investment by reimbursing you for 100% of the amounts youve paid in, minus the *** enrollment fee and any other Non-Refundable Fees.

Thank you for reaching out. We take complaints of this nature very seriously and have conducted a thorough investigation with your child's program team, who will be reaching out to you as well. We apologize that you were inadvertently omitted from the email distribution list following the bus incident, and want to reassure you that  all youth on board the bus during the accident were evaluated and confirmed to be uninjured by the CPR/FA/AED certified Operations Lead. Envision Advisors are not medical doctors and are not advertised as such, though the program does go on site visits where scholars are able to interact with real medical doctors and scholars are able to interact with medical professional guest speakers most evenings of the program. The concerning substance found on the walls was found in the laundry room, no dorm rooms and they were asked if they wanted to change rooms but declined. We are still awaiting mold testing results from the dorm laundry room from the university. We will also be taking a close look at our airport procedures to rectify the issues you mention going forward.

In light of your concerns, we have processed a 50% refund of $1887 today. Please let us know if you do not receive it in the next 7-10 business days. Thank you and have a safe summer.

To start off, my review could be much longer, but I had to leave out quite a bit due to the text allowed. I should have trusted my gut and cancelled when they failed to provide info in a timely manner (finally got promised info 24 hrs before it started, when it was supposed to be weeks prior) . The way the program was presented to us, was completely misleading and not accurate at all! The only things this program managed to do, was to completely defeat my daughter, fail at communication to the point of total frustration/anger, and run a shady business. They had speakers telling kids to donate to their causes, and went on a field trip offsite without notice. When I asked where they were going, they refused to tell me. When I asked *****, his response was- "we want it to be a surprise and if I tell the parents, that surprise is taken from them and please don't take away my pleasure of seeing the surprise of their faces, please don't take that for me. That's why I don't want to risk it by telling you, it gives me a good feeling and I can't believe you want to take that from me." It seemed at the very least, an icky and unprofessional response, and boarder line predatory and just creepy. I read through all my paperwork and didn't see anywhere giving permission to transport her miles away from campus on a bus, to a location they refused to disclose.I overheard many parents being extremely angry they took their kids offsite to an unknown location. That night my daughter was crying because she didn't want to go back, she felt scared and felt she wasn't safe. I've tried to call numerous to address the issues, but no return call. If this isn't made right somehow by the company, I will be contacting my lawyer. This was entirely unacceptable, I know it's been around for a long time, but how they run it now, avoid this program completely. DO NOT send your kids! I will be sharing my experience in the community and make sure everyone is aware of how much of a scam this is.

Thank you for reaching out. We take complaints of this nature very seriously and have conducted a thorough investigation with your child's program team. While the trip they took was an authorized site visit that is part of the curriculum, we agree it should have been handled in a more professional manner and it has been addressed with the individual involved. Our director has also left a voicemail for you and will follow up as well via email.

In light of your concerns, we have processed a full refund today. Please let us know if you do not receive it in the next 7-10 business days. Thank you and have a safe summer.

Thank you for reaching out. Our records show that your refund was successfully processed on 7/21 and the funds have left our account. We've attached a screenshot for reference showing which card was refunded. If you haven't received it, our best suggestion is to contact your bank as we did issue the refund as promised and they have received them from us. Thank you and have a safe summer.

My daughter received a letter, stating that she was nominated for the National Youth Leadership Forum of Medicine offered for the summer of 2023. Going through with the application process we believed that the high price we paid, $4,450.88, would include transportation to the on-site location, it was until we were filling out the form reminders that we realized this information. Local transportation from the airport to the on-site location would be an extra fee of $50-100 (after paying almost 5K!), and since the program can't accommodate unaccompanied minors, we would have to pay almost a thousand in airline fees. In addition, we did further research, and we came across many complaints about the quality of the program where other parents requested refunds of thousands of dollars as the quality of the program did not reach their expectations and at times did not meet what the website description described it as. However, this is not all, this program simply gives out nominations to anyone regardless of academic achievement and does not help for college, we were misled into thinking this was an amazing opportunity and a prestigious program, it is important to add that paying the large sum was not easy on our family, and although we received a $250 grant, we thought we would receive a larger sum. We will be looking for a full refund of the price paid for this program.

      Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. Our website and enrollment materials do state upfront what is included in the tuition cost and transportation is not included.
High achieving students are invited to our programs based on teacher recommendations or test scores and they are intended to help students determine a career focus for college and beyond.

We can consider refunds in the first 24 hours after enrollment if the program doesn't feel like a good fit, or a refund minus $450 and other applicable payment plan fees if the request is made on or before April 5, 2023. Unfortunately, as our cancellation policy states, requests received after April 5 will not receive refunds. As we received your request on 6/19/23 for a program scheduled to start 6/25/23, we are unable to make an exception and refund your tuition, due to the nonrefundable costs we have already incurred in preparation for your child's arrival.

As discussed, we are happy to make a different kind of exception and transfer your tuition to 2024, while waiving the $50 transfer fee. Please let us know if you would like to do so instead. Thank you and have a safe summer.

I am currently signed up for Envision's ************** program that costs over $3,600 with a $500 deposit that was supposed to be set up for ********************* for this summer of 2023. Me and my family payed majority of the payments, totaling up to apx. $2,311.48. I applied for the scholarship prior to the deadline which was on April 26, 2023 for assistance, and Envision confirmed that the estimated need would cover the rest of the program costs. It states clearly on their website that I would be notified at most 3 weeks after the scholarship deadline. I was never notified until I was the one who reached out to see that they essentially redirected me to fundraise the rest on my own. The scholarship earned ($250) was never applied on my account. Envision NEVER had a refund policy posted on their website or the initial invitation received in October. This is fraud. I constantly am going back and forth trying to receive a refund. Envision is telling me that I cannot receive one after April 2023 despite NOT having a refund policy ANYWHERE - not even in the student portal. Now I have to come up with over $1,800 to participate in the program by July despite the official scholarship file stating that the estimated need would cover this + Envision not having an official refund policy anywhere. I just want a FULL refund of the FULL amount of money that I payed so far.

Thank you for reaching out. While we sympathize with your financial situation and our scholarship website does have a section to help you estimate financial need, it does not indicate how much of your need will be met by Envision. Or state that it will be 100% met by Envision. Our scholarships are very competitive and the majority of applicants selected receive $250 as you initially did.

Our Admissions Director ***************************** appreciated speaking with your family this week and per your conversation has increased the financial aid we can offer to $1000, which has been applied to your account. He looks forward to speaking with you again this afternoon to discuss your questions further, please do not hesitate to reach out in the meantime.
