I wish I had read these comments before opening an account with ********************. Wow their customer service is terrible! I opened an account a few years ago because of their decent savings rates. Fast foward to July 2024. ************** bank has a much better interest rate, so I opened a high yield account with them - so starts my saga. Tuesday I submitted a transfer for a decent amount of money into the new account. No notice there was an issue.Wednesday missed a call from them. Thursday funds have been reversed, so I called customer service (ha ha ha). 2.5 hours later, after multiple "dropped calls" ie: their people hung up on me, I was able to verify my new bank and transfer the funds. So funny that the "dropped calls" have only ever happened when talking to their people and didn't happen once I started threatening legal action. So fund have been transferred right? WRONG!Saturday I check to make sure the funds are moving and low and behold, yet another reversal. Sunday I call them again - we go through all the yes yes yes you cannot send my cell phone a one time code -why? who knows! -and we initiate a transfer to my old account because apparently I can only move fund back to the originating account. Well ****, this account is not verified - whatever that means. Monday I'm on the phone first thing in the morning. Close to 2 hours later, and again multiple "dropped calls" we finally have my original bank verified and funds are going to be transferred. As I'm getting ready to hang up the supervisor tells me "be prepared they might reverse the request AGAIN because there's a note that only 5% of the funds might be able to be tranferred. Uh what?! At this stage I finally lose it and am glad the phone call is over. Wednesday - Hallelujah! the funds have been transferred. I go them them and bring a check to my new bank. They say "um...it doesn't matter WHAT account you want to transfer the money into - it's YOUR MONEY" Needless to say they are terrible - buying beware.

If I could choose no stars that would be more appropriate. CC Transaction was denied 4 times even though I responded to text and email that the charge was not fraudulent. After 30 minutes on the phone with what they describe as customer service, I was told that the merchant does not accept Goldman Sach's terms and thus I cannot use my card. I have never had this experience in my life with a credit card. Buyer beware before accepting terms with this shoddy credit card service apparently, not accepted everywhere. Horrible customer service, even worse reliability as a credit card financial institution.

i CANNOT BELEIVE THAT ANYONE WOULD CHOOSE THIS COMPANY.I started a major account on Feb *******. It was hacked immediately and Marcus closed my accounts for over 4 months. I had no access to my own money and could not close the account.Following 4 months and over 25 hours of logged phone calls, I got all my money back.Support is incompetent. and all they say is " I understand your frustrations."NEVER NEVER would I recommend this company.

Marcus inadvertently closed my accounts, with no explanation or advice. I have no access to my funds, which are significant. Frequent calls to them results in an infuriating run around, including conflicting and contradictory information. I am seeking legal recourse. Do not give them any of your money.

Yes, I totally agree with the comments below. Someone needs to do something about this ******** bank. I used to like Marcus, but I didn't expect them to suddenly close my account the day after I decided to withdraw 20K from my CD account after it matured.

We forgot to use the link to apply for Apple Card. Goldman Sachs provides goodwill credit of $75.00 as courtesy to the husband not to the wife. Use the link or not we are new customers. Why the company made an exception for the husband and no exception for the wife for the promotion regarding Friends can earn $75 Daily Cash. The employees (Apple Card Specialists) of the company are horrible and provides bad customer service and experience for us. We would not refer/recommend any new customers to apple for Apple Card with *********************************************. Thank you.

Somebody should do something about these b******* This is a giant scam with come-on rates, then they quickly drop you to a lower rate. THEY ARE A PUBLIC MENACE. SHUT THEM DOWN AND FINE THEM, FEDERAL AND STATE REGULATORS, PLEASE. 8 months before maturity, I took a screen shot of my instructions to close a CD at maturity and have the funds transferred to savings there so I could move it. Instead, the CD matured and 49 days later, against my instructions, Marcus bought me a new CD, this time for 12 months and at a rate far lower than where I have other money parked. I called over a dozen times for 2 months and 13 days before letting go of $1,248 interest, just to get my money away from these scary b******* Every call was at least 82 minutes as I was transferred and "authenticated," by an endless chain of people who are totally useless. I wrote 2 letters, sent evidence, and even then, it didn't matter, they wouldn't waive the 90-day interest penalty. One of their agents ADMITTED THEY HAD A NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM AND IT WAS AN "AGENT ERROR," yet they still charged me the penalty. One letter to the address they provided, a PO Box in ************, was returned as Undeliverable. DO NOT GIVE THEM A *****, is my best advice. They should be shut down to protect the public and a class action lawsuit should be initiated. I have dealt with numerous banks all around the country with CDs and savings accounts, and ******************** is the WORST. Their so-called "fraud protection" protocols are obfuscation for their not wanting people to get their money out, to transfer their money to other institutions, or to get away from them. If they say they will call you, 99% of the time, they don't. If they do, RARELY, they leave the robot number and you can NEVER get to the person back. A different account I had with them required 4, four, F-O-U-R attempts to transfer to a different institution because they kept clawing it back and wouldn't let it go. This is a giant scam; they are jerks. RUN FROM THEM!!

A follow up to my previous review, it has now been over eleven weeks since I had a CD mature and I still do not have the funds. Goldman Marcus admitted they made a mistake when they told me I could transfer the funds via ACH. They claim to have mailed me a check which I never received. They then said they needed a notarized affidavit stating I never received the check. I mailed the notarized affidavit, they subsequently claimed they did not receive it. I then overnighted them a second notarized affidavit which they admitted they received. Yet still no funds. The specialist who reached out to me has now gone radio silent and her direct number which she gave to me now longer works. As a primary US Treasury dealer, with a long history and storied brand, one would think they would treat customers well. Avoid any dealing with the company.

Seems like they are doing everything they can to not allow me to take my money out. I have 2 accounts with them, and I'm in escrow on a property. i went to make the wire transfer and they are telling me that only 1 of the 2 accounts is eligible for wire transfer. I'm about to lose the deal because of them. to add to the frustration they have transferred me 6 times on the phone and I have been on the phone with them for 1.5 hours already and counting!

It's really a shame that I am leaving this negative review for Marcus because I had been happy with them for many years. Now I am needing to transfer money out to my trusted bank account that I haven't changed in years and they locked me out of doing it online, I called only to be told that they coudn't verify me and they would need to call me back, they have never called me. My money is stuck with them. Not sure what has happened to this great company but it's terrible service and borders on criminal to not allow you access to your funds.
