      Tek collect claims to have contacted me about an outstanding debt. I have no records of contact. They did not call my phone, use my email, and I did not receive any mail. I did not know that I was missing a bill until I noticed the demerit on my experience credit score.

      The creditor, ****** ********** ***** ********, placed the consumer's defaulted utility account for collection on 06/06/2024. The address provided with the account was * ******** ******* ****** *** ********* ** *****. No email address for the consumer was provided but the telephone number ###-###-#### was received with the account. TekCollect sent notices to the consumer's address on the account on these dates: 06/07/2024, 07/07/2024, 07/22/2024, and 08/21/2024, Calls were placed to the consumer on these dates but there was no contact with the consumer, 06/27/2024, 07/12/2024, 07/15/2024, 08/14/2024, and 09/02/2024. On 10/16/2024, we again called and spoke with the consumer. Per our arrangement with the creditor, we directed the consumer back to ****** ********** ***** ********. The consumer paid the debt that day The account is closed paid.       Tek collect bought this alleged account from ****** ****** *****. I have contacted them several times requesting proof. All they keep sending me is a list of transactions I supposedly made. I have yet to receive anything with my WET signature. I have never resided at the address they have on file. This is the only COLLECTIONS on my account and it’s not even mine. I need this inaccurate and false information removed from my account immediately.

      They keep saying the same thing. Sending copies of transactions IS NOT proof of validation. They don’t know who made those charges to the alleged debt. They have yet to provide me any copies with my SIGNATURE.

      On 10/05/2024, TekCollect responded to the dispute that the consumer filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). At that time, we provided the CFPB with copies of these documents from the creditor, ****** ****** *****, the signature card & agreement bearing the consumer's signature, the account history, and an itemized statement of account. All of this information was sent to the consumer on 08/26/2024 in response to their original dispute filed directly with TekCollect. Please see the attached documents.       I was called by Tek Collect about a dentist bill I have never received. Tek Collect informed me that I owed this money. However, when I called the provider, they informed me that I only owed 500 which I still have not received a statement/bill for. The services are one and half almost to two years old. I thought that the provider had to give you a statement and wait 90 days before placing in collections. I also do not know if this is a scam or not.

      This is a collection company. However I had previously paid the debt directly to the company owes (Los Posas Dental). They are not trying to collect additional monies that originally owed. At this point they are harassing me by texting and calling all the time.

      I initally had set up a payment plan in June for 2 payments of $192. We had been going through some financial issues at that time and unfortunately, that payment was returned. I take fault for that happening on my end.

      However, a payment was set up online through the Tek-Collect website around the beginning of August for $384 to be pulled on 08/16/2024. Tek-collect continued to call and state that they did not see a payment set up anywhere. A person spoke with my husband on 08/14/2024 and again told him that they did not see a payment set up anywhere. He went ahead and just paid it so that they would stop calling. They assured my husband that 2 payments would not come out, because the payment that I spoke about prior was never even set up.

      Fast forward to yesterday, we have a pending amount on our checking account for $384. We called Tek-Collect again and they once again state that there is no amount due, so the charge will just fall off, due to it still being pending. We checked our account again this morning and it is now fully charged to our account and no longer pending.

      My husband called them this morning and they again, told him that they show no other payments being made, aside from the 1 that he set up on 08/14/2024. We have sent proof twice to them of the account being charged more than once. They now state they are "investigating".

      We were once again contacted by Tek Collect today stating that we owe money to the same business as before, for the same amount. They again state that they don’t see the 2nd payment and that when the 1st payment was reversed after the initial BBB claim, that they refunded the full amount and so now we owe them money again. The only refund we ever received was from the stop payment that we filed with our bank. Both charges from Tek Collect still remain on our account with the payment reversal being shown from our bank. No reversal or refund from Tek Collect themselves. Therefore, this account should be still showing resolved and the business should have their money that we paid to Tek collect. My wife spoke with a supervisor and he is forwarding this information onto the accounting department, but this has been an absolutely terrible experience. We would like our account properly marked paid and to be done with this mess for good.

      This took some time to research and resolve and involved both our accounting staff and our programming staff to figure out what happened. On 07/22/2024, the consumer set up an ACH transaction to pay this account. It was postdated to run on 08/16/2024 for $384. When our agent spoke with Mr. ******* on 08/14/2024, they did not see this transaction and at that time, a credit card transaction was taken to pay the account. The ACH transaction was uploaded on 08/16/2024 but not applied to the account due to the credit card transaction. In the confusion, that credit card transaction was reversed. It has now been applied back to the account. The account now shows paid. The ACH was ultimately withdrawn and returned on 08/21/2024.  **** ***** Phone ###-###-#### email *********************

      In May 2024, I received notifications from a collection agency called TekCollect that my ***** ************ account had been sent to collections. This was surprising to me because I had visited the ***** ************ branch on *************** several years prior and closed all of my accounts to move to an institution with better rates. Upon calling ***** ************, I was informed that a savings account in my name was left open and had a negative balance. After explaining the situation, the associate on the phone disputed the charges with the fraud department, said the charges were reversed, and the account closed. Then, earlier this week I checked my credit report to find my scores had decreased due to a collections from TekCollect on my account. I tried disputing the collections through Credit Karma and was told that the report could not be changed as it was accurate. I called ***** ************ again this morning and spoke to ****. She said the account was in fact closed back in May 2024 and the balance shows $0. Upon calling TekCollect, I was told again that the collections was valid and she "wasn't sure why someone would have told me the account was closed because there is a balance of $102." So now I have a derogatory **** on my credit report.

On August 1, 2024, TekCollect was notified that the consumer disputes the debt. The dispute was made by the consumer directly to the credit bureaus and the notice was received via the ******* website. TekCollect placed the account in dispute and we have contacted ***** ************ requesting validation of the account. Today, we received a call from the consumer disputing the account. Our agent explained that the account is in dispute and that we have contacted ***** ************.       Upon reviewing my credit report, I discovered that a debt has been assigned to my account for services provided to a minor. However, I have no legal or financial responsibility for this child. I believe this debt has been erroneously attributed to me instead of the parents of this child ******* ****** and I am requesting that it be investigated and subsequently removed from my credit report.

      I was offered a settlement offer by ******* ** which was a 20% reduction in the ammount owed (see attachment). After agreeing and sending them the 466.94$ to settle the account, they are now trying to collect the 20% difference as if we never made a deal to settle.

      I contacted them my phone today and the lady i spoke to told me that they still try and collect the rest of the dept even after they make deals. So this a common practice with this company.

      This business reported on my credit score after I had paid ********** directly and claimed it was a settlement repayment. This is absolutely not true. Now my credit score has been negatively impacted. This happened almost a FULL YEAR after I had paid.

      The consumer is mistaken. The debt was placed by ********** for collection on 02/23/2023. TekCollect subsequently reported the account as a collection to credit reporting agencies on 05/08/2023. On 06/26/2023 during a telephone call, the consumer informed TekCollect that the account had been paid in May 2023 directly to **********. ********** then reported this payment to TekCollect later that day. The effective date of the payment was 05/17/2023. TekCollect then updated this account with the credit reporting agencies as paid. Today, we checked with the credit reporting agencies and confirmed that information.       Tek collect keeps sending me notices about debt due under different account numbers. The initial account number ******** was paid off in 2023. Tekcollect tried to say I owe again $118.60 back in May of 2023 under a new account number ********. I spoke with a representative and provided bank statements showing where I paid off the amount under the initial account number. The agent stated he wasn’t sure why the system did a duplicate account and would mark it as paid. Here we are again on February 2024 and I’m still getting this same notice. What is truly going on with this company? Are you scamming the consumers?

The first account, ********, was received from the ****** ******** on 09/19/2022 with a date of service 05/06/2021.This account was subsequently paid and closed o  04/27/2023. The next account, ********, was received from the ****** ******** on 12/27/2022 with a date of service 09/19/2022. This account remains open and outstanding. TekCollect has placed this account in dispute.
