My apartment complex driveway was getting work done to it on today 6/19/2024. All cars where supposedly be off the parking lot by a certain time. I walked outside where there was tow truck from Contract towing towing cars off the lot. And there was another tow truck with someone inside taking people info to let them know if there car was towed or not. My apartment complex have a note on the front doors that they will not be towing cars but asked if we kindly remove the vehicles. But they will not tow. I asked the guy in the truck what was the issue all he kept saying is that the trucks are already on the way the the towing yard and if we want our cars back we will need to pay him $240.70 to get them back. He also explained that they will bring them back once we pay. I needed to go to work and I needed to get my 3 yr old at daycare at a certain time. After waiting with my neighbors who also had cars towed I just paid the guy to have my car bring back to my house, he literally drove off and within minutes came back with my car. *** had my car towed by this company before and that is a 30 minute drive at the least. They towed our cars parked them at a sports complex next door and charged us to get them back to us without having any permission from the association to do this. At the very most the cars were only to be moved not towed and charged by the residents who live here.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/14/2024

We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised by ******************** regarding the towing of their vehicle from **** City Condos. We take all complaints seriously and strive to provide transparent and fair resolutions.

Upon reviewing the incident in question, we found that the towing of Lakimeyon ******* vehicle was conducted in accordance with both our contractual obligations and the regulations outlined by the property management. The decision to tow the vehicle was made due to an expired parking pass, which violated the terms outlined in our contract with the property.

Our contractual agreement with the property explicitly states that we reserve the right to tow vehicles for various parking violations, as specified within the contract terms. In this instance, an expired pass falls under the category of violations that warrant towing action.

Furthermore, we want to emphasize that our actions were conducted at the request of the property manager. As a service provider entrusted to enforce parking regulations on behalf of the property, we adhere to their directives in such matters.

We understand the inconvenience and frustration that vehicle towing can cause, and we apologize for any inconvenience experienced by **************.Our primary goal is to maintain order and fairness within the parking facilities while ensuring compliance with the terms agreed upon by all parties involved.

In light of this incident, we will review our procedures to ensure that communication with residents regarding parking regulations and enforcement is as clear and transparent as possible. Additionally, we are open to discussing any further concerns or suggestions for improvement with ************* to prevent similar issues in the future. Attached are the various documents that will support our claims.

Please feel free to reach out if you require any further information or clarification regarding this matter. We value our relationship with the Better Business Bureau and remain committed to upholding the highest standards of service and accountability.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Sincerely,
      ***************************

I purchased an annual parking pass for my vehicle when I moved into my complex. Then my car was rear ended about a month later. Now I have to update contract towing by emailing my rental car receipt every week it is renewed because the dealer doesnt know how long it will take to fix my car. Furthermore if I have to replace the car contract towing will not transfer my annual parking pass to the new car! This is highly unethical. None of this was explained to me when I rented the apartment. It is a huge hassle and will 100% lead to me not renewing my lease. I will be sure to inform my apartment complex that I am leaving to find a new place to live because of their association with contract towing! I would like to be refunded either a prorated amount for the parking pass that I can no longer use if i have to replace my car or have my parking pass transferred if necessary and not have to provide a weekly receipt for the rental car. This highly disturbs my ability to have quiet enjoyment of the property due to hassle alone! It may be against landlord tenant ordinances in my area! Especially because I was not informed at all about these practices before I signed my lease!

So yesterday day june 13th 2023 I purchased a guest parking pass from ******************* provided by this company contract towing for my apartment community **************** for 25 $. Upon purchasing the pass there is no prompt there is no email there is no notification of any sort to tell you that you have to activate the pass. I called contract towing yesterday after I registered the vehicle and the person I asked if I would be towed while we wait for the pass in the mail said no. I woke up this morning our only car was towed the problem here is the website it doesnt prompt you to activate the parking pass you just bought I welcome you to test it. They also have over 40 pass options as their website is so terribly implemented they dont remove their broken options they just list them for millions of dollars so this company that cant even take care of a website have the authority to tow cars?

To Whom it May ********* am writing to express my concern about predatory practices by ************** and Contract Towing. Yesterday, my car was towed due to an expired pass which was towed last year for a similar reason. When I spoke to the representative, she stated that I had received emails on both occasions, but upon reviewing my inbox and spam folders, I did not find any notifications from *****************. I told her this was the case last time as well, but feeling as if I had no power in the situation, I paid the fee. However, I believe that this is a predatory practice and needs to be addressed. Moreover, when I went to pay $215 to get my car out today, I let the representative know that I would be moving out in a month. She then agreed for me to pay $25 in cash in order to renew it for a month. However, when I went to get the cash, I inquired about the policy just to get a better understanding of the fee. At that moment, she became agitated and said that they don't provide the policy to residents. After more inquiring about the fee, she became upset and said that I can no longer purchase a tag and refused me services. This is unethical and unacceptable. As a school counselor, I do not have the money to be giving out for such unfair and unjustified practices. I have also recorded the exchange for reference. Therefore, I request that the Better Business Bureau and the ******** ************************** look into this matter and take appropriate action against such predatory practices. It is important to ensure that residents are not taken advantage of in this manner.I would appreciate a response to this email and would like to know what action will be taken against these unethical practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please review the attachment to hear the exchange.Sincerely,***************************

On March 4, 2023, I legally parked my ***** CRV in my apartments parking lot, my car is registered to my apartment via Contract Towing with the appropriate tags. On 3/04/2023, I traveled out of state and when I returned on 03/20/2023 I could not find my car in the same spot where I left it. On 3/20/23, I called Contract Towing to inquire if they had my car, they denied it. I called the police who informed me that the car was with Contract Towing. I called Contract Towing a second time, they said that they towed my vehicle on 3/09/23 at 4:03am for taking up too much space," and that they released my car on 3/09/23 to a man named ***********************. They said he picked my car up from Contract Towing with his Drivers License and a key, and that I should go file a police report. Ive never heard that name before and no one else has access to my car. I immediately filed a police report for stolen vehicle and filed a claim with my insurance. Then on 03/21/2023 my insurance called Contract Towing, and after being transferred 3 different times even to the Contract Towings headquarters, they eventually admitted to my insurance that my car was with them. Contract towing illegally towed my car, but made me pay $216 and $540.00 ($45.00 x 12 days) total of $758.50 before I could get my car out of their parking lot. I believe someone else drove my car, because the seat and steering settings were changed, and I could not conveniently drive my car out of their parking lot until I brought the steering down and readjusted the seat to fit my height. The police detective I spoke to stated that Contract Towing stole my car out of my parking lot and made me pay for it. Contract Towing on 3/21/23 denied that someone else stole my car from them and insisted that I could only get my car back after paying. They said conversations I had with their representative were recorded, I have a witness too. I will like to receive a refund and compensation for stealing and driving my car.

I have lived at my current location for three years where contract towing is our parking management contractor. Ive never had an issue with my annual registration so it stands to reason that I am familiar with the process. I logged online to their website, located my information and clicked renew. I entered all of my credit card info, clicked submit and was given a receipt of the transaction detailing a new expiry in **** as well as a $25 charge. At this point I think Im good but on the 9th I find my vehicle has been towed. I called and they said I should not be able to accomplish this on the website, that instead I need to call to renew which has not been the case in the past. I was not issued a refund for the tow and was made to pay the full amount inspire of the obvious oversight. The subsequent three days following the tow I personally attempted to recover the vehicle, but the impound lot was not staffed. Luckily the storage fees were waived. I had also emailed their ceo to no avail. He ignored three emails on the subject. I have now recovered the vehicle today on the fourth day and paid the full tow fee. Receipt attached for annual registration and tow fee
