Apologies, I am re-submitting this complaint as I did not receive a confirmation that it was filed when I filed a complaint under another email address (***************************).In essence, I believe I may have been wrongfully banned from using the Grindr application. I can confirm I have read through the Community Guidelines / Terms of Service in detail and genuinely believe that I have not contravened any of the guidelines or terms stipulated in those documents. I am a lawyer by trade and so I am required to comply with professional and ethical standards as part of my profession. This is why I am a careful and responsible user on the app and why I am confident I have not breached Grindr's guidelines or terms.I am happy to go through each of these guidelines/terms in detail and confirm I have not contravened them if you wish. However, before I do so I would like the Grindr support team to please re-consider my case again.My personal belief is that I may have been banned by one user who had repeatedly been demanding to meet me over the past two months. He has threatened to report me in the past for being rude, etc even though I was simply not responding to his demands.On a more personal note, I have been using Grindr for many years now. As you may appreciate, I have spoken to and connected with many users over the years, including when I was living overseas. As I have never contemplated being banned or removed from the app without notice, I havent gotten contact details of a lot of these contacts outside of the app. It is distressing to me that I may lose contact with these individuals, many of whom I have been speaking to for many years. To me it is akin to losing contact with a close friend.As a responsible user of the ********************** app for many years it has been disappointing to have been banned from the app with no notice. Hi there, I have been a respectful and responsible user of the ********************** app for many years without any issues. Almost a week ago I received notice that my account was banned - I reached out to Grindr support and received what appeared to be a generic email with no explanation as to why my account was banned. It is my genuine belief that I have not breached any of the guidelines or terms of use stipulated on the Grindr website - due to my profession I need to comply with ethical and professional standards and I applied the same when I used the Grindr app, which is why it was a surprise that my account had been banned. My only thought was that I had recently been harassed by a user who kept creating new accounts and demanding to meet me - i suspect they may have wrongfully reported me. Can the Grindr support team please reconsider my appeal application and if there is no just reason for it being banned, to please lift the ban? I am more than happy to provide more details about my account usage and the reasons why I believe I have been using the app in compliance with Grindr's terms and guidelines. My phone has not been able to use Grindr for about 4 months now. weeks after my 18th birthday I downloaded this app and immediately got banned for being underage. I email the support team, I wait for a response, and I was met with a bot response telling me that my account was now PERMANENTLY suspended because they could not verify I was over the age of 18 despite me sending them an image of my ID. I had the same issue with the dating app Scruff, but they responded to me in a day and unlocked my account because they verified I was over the age of 18. I have kept trying to get my phone unbanned for months now with slow responses that have taken up to 2 weeks only for them to tell me they cannot verify that my account is banned, even though I have sent multiple screenshots of my you have been banned screen. They ignore my screenshots, ignore everything I say when I tell them my issue (I believe my phone itself is banned, not my account.) and they dismiss it saying either 1. I am not banned so they cant solve the issue despite me showing screenshots that I am CLEARLY banned, 2. They cant disclose why I was banned and cannot revert it when I have done nothing to recieve a ban and have not violated their terms, or 3. Completely ignore me after I explain that my accounts are getting banned on creation. This is completely unfair, I have had men threaten me and make r*pe threats against me that have not been banned, but I get banned for something that is not even true. I've been using the Grindr app platform for several years and have never had any issues or complaints regarding its rules a guidelines the app makes very clear for all users to comply with. I have always agreed with them and appreciated the company for taking them as seriously as they do for I have been put in situations with other users where I felt others were violating the rules an had no other option but to report them so the company can address the problem so the individual doesn't continue to violate the rules with other users. But for the first and only time I have foun myself on the other side of this situation. But this time I have no information as to why I am in the position I'm and have no idea what I did to deserve this. The company has decided to block me from ever using its platform again but will not share with me what I did to be blocked from logging back into my account which I have been using for nearly the past decade. I have reached out to the company through email and even filled out a appeal over their decision to ban me from their platform only to find out what I did wrong but the only message I received was a very vague email stating that in efforts to protect me and my privacy, they cannot share their reasoning behind blocking me. I want a real answer. I feel that I have done nothing to deserve to be banned or at least if I did I deserve a real explanation what I did wrong. I have read over the rules and guidelines several times and cannot find anything that I have done that would be considered a violation or anything offensive to deserve a ban out of no where. One again, I was banned with my account I was forced to create in order to continue using the app and like the fist time just a few weeks ago they will not give me a real reason for banning me. This time it says I was banned for impersonation. When I tried to appeal the ban by contacting customer service I was given the exact same response copy and paste as I did from the fist time my account was banned. In the response they aren't clear with the reason why the account was banned they just list a few examples why my account could have been banned. Once again they cannot and will not provide me a real answer as to why they decided to ban my account so of course there is no evidence to say that I have broke any rules or failed to follow the guidelines. It seems as though anyone can report another user on the app and without investigating anything they decide to ban the account. So if you don't like someone or just decide to be an a****** you can easily have someone banned by making up a reason to report an account since Grindr doesn't make sure the report holds any truth it is claiming.
