I purchased tickets through Seat Geek to a **** game on April 3rd at 7pm. In anticipation of poor weather conditions this week, I reached out to Seat Geek on March 27th requesting a cancellation of my order. Their support representative (*****) told me that they cannot issue a refund because "SeatGeek is a secondary marketplace, once the order has been submitted, we're unable to cancel, exchange/edit/modify or refund unless the event was canceled". Therefore my only option was to resell the tickets through Seat Geek. Please note that when I re-listed the tickets on Seat Geek the price the tickets were quoted were a quarter of what I originally paid and SeatGeek takes a percentage of the sale. I paid $60 per ticket ($120 total), but they suggested I list the tickets at $15. I still listed the tickets at $60 per ticket, however with Seat Geek's seller fee, I would have only gotten back $54 per ticket. Given that I had no other choice, I listed the tickets on Seat Geek but they did not sell. This morning (April 3rd), the **** announced that they have to reschedule the game due to heavy rain. There is rainstorm and flood warning across the tri-state area today. The game was rescheduled to Thursday, April 4th at 12pm. However I am not available to attend the game at that date or time because I have to work. I reached out to Seat Geek again to see if I could get a refund for the tickets, given that the game was rescheduled. This time, their support representative told me that I can no longer resell the tickets on Seat Geek but I had to the option to transfer them to the *** app and resell them there. Otherwise, my other option was to escalate the situation with their internal team. It is important to note that just because the tickets can be resold does not guarantee that they will actually sell. If the tickets do not sell then I am just at a loss for the cost of the tickets. I choose to escalate the situation. In the time in-between while I waited for the representative to get back to me both the *** and Seat Geek sent out an email saying that tickets would be transferred as a voucher for the rescheduled game. The support representative afterwards and told me that they will not refund my order. The only option is to resell the tickets. Given that I have reached out to Seat Geek multiple time with no resolution, I'm hoping that the Better Business Bureau can assist me in getting a refund.
