Auto repair related information
Here are some of the types of places you may consider when you need car repair near you (make sure you read your car warranty to see if it requires certain work to be done at the dealership):
National chains: There are national chains where you can get your car repaired. These options probably have the greatest name recognition, and therefore often inspire trust. You may want to check if they are a national chain overseen by a central headquarters or are a network of independently owned franchises. This can affect the consistency of the work and experience at the location near you.
Dealerships: Many dealerships (both new and used) also have repair services. If you had a good experience buying your car at a dealership, it can make sense as a first choice location to get your car fixed. Going to a dealership for a specific brand will also mean you are turning to mechanics who are factory-trained and experienced with your specific make of car.
General auto shops: Sometimes you’ll be best served by finding a local mechanic at an auto shop near you who is a general expert. When you find one you like, you can build a relationship with them over time. You’ll get to trust them and be able to turn to them when you’re not sure what is wrong or what has to be done.
Specialty shops: There are some options, like tire shops or brake shops, that focus on a particular part of the car. While you may feel like a specialist is the best option because they are the most experienced with your flat tire or faulty brakes, if you go to specialty shops, you have to find a new repair shop for every type of issue you have.

Accreditation and Ratings Overview
Select businesses earn BBB Accreditation by undergoing a thorough evaluation and upholding the BBB Accreditation Standards.
BBB assigns ratings from A+ (highest) to F (lowest). In some cases, BBB will not rate the business (indicated by an NR, or "No Rating") for reasons that include insufficient information about a business or ongoing review/update of the business's file.
