I keep getting charged on my cibc card for my fit4 less when I called them and cancelled my membership and they are still charging me for my girlfriends membership too even though she got a email from fit4less saying her membership was cancelled because she didnt have the money to pay for her membership she got a email saying her membership was cancelled but they are still charging me for my fit4less membershipBusiness Response

Was charged an annual gym renewal fee on August 15th - was never sent any renewal notice (last email from fit4less was received in April and unrelated to membership renewal) and did not wish to renew. The Ontario Consumer Protection act requires gyms to send a renewal notice otherwise the contract is void and the consumer is entitled to a refund - from the ontario consumer act website:Renewing or cancelling your contract All contracts must end after one year.Contracts may be renewed only if the gym follows certain rules, including:sending you a renewal notice at least 30 days, but not more than 90 days before the contract expires giving you a copy of the contract that clearly notes all changes the gym has made to the contract If you received a renewal notice and do not respond to it, the club has the right to renew and bill you under the renewed contract.If your membership is renewed without notice, it is not a valid contract and you may give notice of cancellation to the ******* can also demand them to return any money paid after the original contract ended.Business Response

2. No one needs to contact me - the Ontario Consumer Protection act gives me a right to demand a refund because no renewal notice was communicated - the contract is void and the annual charge was not-authorized. Issue the refund or communicate when the refund will be issued - stop with the delay tactics.

I am rejecting this response because:I was contacted by a fit4less manager who refuses to provide a refund as required to by the Ontario Consumer Protection act - no renewal notice was sent to me within 90 days of the renewal. The manager stated this was not required because its in their marketing material which is not a renewal notice and admitted no release notice was sent. I have a legal right to a refund which must be provided.

My husband and I were members at the Fit4Less location in ********. Due to a move, we both requested to cancel our memberships. During the required 30-day cancellation period, Fit4Less charged us the full annual membership fee in addition to the regular bi-weekly membership fees.I believe this policy is unfair and excessive. Charging the entire annual fee during a period when we will not be able to use the service contradicts the purpose of a cancellation notice. A pro-rated annual fee corresponding only to days of active membership would be more reasonable. Paying a full year's fee for a service that will be terminated within 30 days is not justified, even if this is stated in the contract or FAQ.I am requesting a refund of the annual membership fee charged during the cancellation period for both my membership and my husbands. I am a member at the **************** branch in *********. Usually machines are repaired quickly but there are so many machines completely broken right now that its almost not worth going to the gym. I have called several times and keep getting told that theyre working on it. I would like to know how long before these machines actually get repaired. Ive already had that response from the people who staff the club yet nothing has been done to repair any of the machines.

I recently got charged a $65 annual fee. The lady who spoke to me did not mention this when I cancelled and seemed in a hurry to cancel my subscription. The Annual fee is a non-refundable fee that is charged each year on/around the membership anniversary date as mentioned in the Terms and Conditions agreed to during the joining process as well as in the provided contract after completing the joining process.
Fit4Less does require 30 days' notice for all membership cancellations and members are responsible to all payments within this time frame.
There is currently a cancellation date set for 2025-06-11, if you'd like to keep your membership with us simply request for the cancellation to be removed with a Host in club prior to your cancellation date.

I cancelled my membership March 15th 2025. I am still being charged by weekly. I spoke to the manager at this location and he said he I was still an active member. He told me he would retro-actively cancel my membership and I would receive no more charges. I was lied to. I called tonight only to find out my account is still active. I cancelled my membership 11 months ago, they have continued to charge me. Finally cancelled my membership for me today (04/08/2025) and are refusing to refund me the ten months of membership fees + annual fee they charged to me account. I have asked for at the very least the large annual fee I've been charged to be refunded. Ive been requesting my statement since October for insurance purposes I filled out the form many times no response Ive emailed the privacy officers no response Ive escalated to the store manager he cant do anything for me and he refuses to print the statement at the store Fit4less is preventing me from claiming my insurance for the gym membership and it creating a big problem for me Ive since then cancelled my membership emailed privacy officer again they ignore. Id like my statement for the money Ive paid for the last 24 months I dont understand why they cannot print it at the store planet fitness says they print it at the store this is why I cancelled my membership with fit4less but if they can produce the statement I will stay before the 30 days are up I will keep my account open Can someone do something about this?
