      I have been a AAA member for 19 years. I have the AAA plus membership. On Sunday I called the AAA Roadside Assistance helpline to get my pickup truck towed after it wouldn’t start. The dispatcher asked if I had the following modifications done to my truck. One of them was a toolbox. I told her yes, I had a toolbox. She then replied that I didn’t qualify for towing. I asked if I removed the toolbox would they come tow it? She wouldn’t answer. Instead she hung up on me. I went to the app to schedule the tow. I was told 3-3 and a half hours. I waited over 5 and a half hours. I received a call from the tow truck operator who asked if I still needed a tow. He had just been dispatched and would be at least 45 minutes-1hour. I was not at home. I am a nurse who has to take care of patients. I had to cancel due to getting up at 04:30 am. I had to cancel my appointment with the mechanic who was going to work on my truck in the morning. Now I am paying for a tow truck out of pocket and a rental car. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

      While this is a disappointing and unacceptable experience, AAA Mid States sincerely appreciates your feedback and indeed your almost 20 years of membership. As the undisputed leader in roadside assistance for over a century, we always look for ways to hone our craft as the nation’s largest network of transportation first responders. There are of course vehicle eligibility restrictions regarding our roadside assistance but only those that pose a safety concern to our providers and other motorists. It is unfortunate that this was not properly communicated to you. This is why such feedback is vital to improving member experience and your comments are already being used as a teachable moment. We understand that Emergency Road Service management has already reached out to you to apologize and most importantly tow your vehicle to the repair facility of your choice. When you have a moment, please confirm that this is being handled to your satisfaction. Once again, we thank you for your membership and the opportunity to retain it.

      Stole $165 dollars from me. There agent lied over and over again saying a tow was coming when he was actually lying because he never called. When I called back saying no tow arrived the agent refused to call. it was thanksgiving night and it sounded like he was near asleep at the phone and just didnt want to deal with it. Every time I reach out to AAA they say they only do refunds within a month when their tow doesn't arrive. However I have reiterated so many times that I dont want reimbursement because the tow didnt arrive, I want reimbursement because their lazy agent engaged in behavior that cost me $165 and they have a recording of this phone call. Yet they refuse to listen to it because they are cheap and think $165 is worth more than their customers.

      I would run away!!! They only want your membership money and then when you actually need help, they won't renew you. I needed two tows this year. The last tow, they made me wait over 2.5 hours, and then I finally got a call only to find out the truck was too big to get my car even though I had told them exactly where the car was before they ordered the tow. Thankfully I was in a safe place and had someone to pick me up and get me home, but what if I wouldn't have been? They are awful. What good are they when they can't get to people and then drop you once you use them. Please don't waste your money on them!!!

      ZERO STARS. This service is absolutely useless. Last night we experienced our second "no contact' service this year. We had a flat tire near midnight about 20 miles from home. We have "Premier" membership for service up to 100 miles. It was near midnight on a dark highway.We dialed the number on the card and all we got was an automated artificial a"intelligence" menu. This menu was impossible to deal with, and it kept on directing me to the website or their app. We never got a live person to talk to. This would have been a simple fix if we could get through to them. Absolutely useless service. I ended up changing the tire myself but I know that had this happened to my wife, she would have been stuck. I called the number this morning and did get through to a person (I guess 24 hr assistance means only between 8am and 5pm ). I asked the first person to put me through to a supervisor since, God forbid, someone else in need is trying to get through. After a 5 minute wait, Reuben picked up the call and argued with me that there are many ways to get through to them (phone, web, app) and it was my fault that I didn't get service. He also mentioned it was late at night. I asked for his manager and spoke to Dave who, at least, was apologetic but said well it was Father's Day after all and the wait would have been longer than expected. I stopped him and asked to cancel my membership and get a refund on the remainder of the year I prepaid for, he said that wasn't possible. I had three days to cancel when I last renewed and then it goes for the rest of the year. I asked if there was local storefront and he gave me the address of the AAA travel agency in town. I want to warn everyone considering signing up for roadside assistance to avoid AAA. I have been a loyal member since 2016 (and before but I moved and my membership lapsed for a year). PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER OPTIONS.

      AAA will not renew our auto club dues this year because of disproportionate use of services. When I called upon this letter I received they told me that I could find my answer in the AAA handbook and that I could not talk to a representative about the issue. We have been a member for more than 15 years and have paid our bill every year. I feel that we have been loyal customers and that they should be able to explain to use why they are canceling our service.

      AAA will not renew our auto club dues this year because they said we are not bringing in revenue for them. We make our annual payment of over $200 every March/April. But because we don't use them or he kept saying bringing in revenue for him then we are being canceled. We have had them for years and years and years. Our oldest is 38 and we got the AAA motor club when he was 16. I don't know if they expect you to use some of their other banking and insurance and stuff like that but if we have our own bank why switch to AAA if we have our own insurance then why do we need to go to AAA insurance. We are being punished for paying the company and then not pulling or not needing them during the year. Tell me where that makes sense we give them money we don't take any out and we're gone people need to be aware of this because this is just not right

      Here we are late in December in Pittsburgh and "Triple A" Roadside assistance left my wife and me stranded two nights ago. We ran out of gas and when they answered the phone their first question was "are you in a safe place?" I said no. Our vehicle was half on the road at a busy bend. We were just a mile from the gas station and in an area that has plenty of coverage and since I didn't have a fuel can and didn't want to walk the busy dark road and leave my wife with the car, I decided to call AAA. They took my information and assured me they dispatched help and should hear from them soon. After waiting 45 minutes I called AAA back to get an update. The person who I learned was a Supervisor for emergency services at AAA asked me to hold and we held for 32 minutes only to find out that the service provider AAA requested told them they would not fill the request. He then said that he has found a second provider but they were another 45 minutes away...we really didn't know what to do because it was going on 2 hours. I really don't understand I live in a highly populated suburb of a busy metro and I can't get a couple gallons of fuel when I am in a dire situation?? By then, my daughter was getting out of work and said she would stop, she picked us up, took us to the fuel station where we spent $28 on a gas can and $17 on fuel and made it back during which time we finally received a call from the second service provider who said he was 30 minutes from us so I told him not to bother. As I look a the Triple A PLUS membership card in my wallet that has cost me well over $100 for the last 29 years and I think of the hassles this organization has put me through, I really wonder why I have it. ...thanks for reading, I needed to vent, I don't expect AAA to do anything but I feel a little better warning other against investing in the "benefits" of AAA

      AAA is absolutely terrible. They tell you to use the app and then do not read any of the details you type in. I waited and hour for the tow driver who then had a type of truck that I wrote in the app that would not work for the car. I then had to call AAA, wait another 35 mins to talk to someone. They said that they could read the note of the truck that was needed but it would take another hour. I waited for another hour and no one showed up. I would never recommend this terrible app or AAA to anyone. You pay for the membership and still have to pay for a tow company to get you after AAA ditches you

      I have escalated a problem several times via phone and email for weeks. It has been 3 weeks and still have not gotten one response. Management refuses to get on the phone. I demanded to speak with Lee Nunn and Steve Lawrence (names in management that I was given every time I called), neither would get on the phone. I still have yet to receive an email or phone call back. I want to warn others not to do business with this AAA branch. As far a management goes, its a shame.

      May 8, 2021 I went to transfer a title to the buyer of my truck. Because it is a company vehicle I knew from past experience that I'd need a letter on company letterhead saying I had authority to make the transaction. I've used this letter numerous times in the past but the York facility clerk did't think it looked pretty enough and wouldn't accept it. I subsequently asked for her supervisor Angie Horan and she told the clerk it wasn't good enough. I'd give the clerks name but she refused to give her name when I told her I'd be writing a complaint to AAA and the BBB. I left the York site and went to Trones Notary and had no problem whatsoever. I can't stress enough how totally unprofessional these two representatives of AAA York were! If it was possible I wouldn't give any star but you can't leave a review with out one
