Allied's response/denial of our claim occurred in June of 2023 (See Allied Denial Third Party File Attached). In June of 2022, Cowboys Moving and Storage had been storing our household items and was committed to load them (we arranged shipping with U-Pack). Cowboys loaded the items in a haphazard manner (we hired a 5 star local mover in Naples, FL and he said it was the 3rd worst load he'd ever seen and he'd been in business for about 20 years). Cowboys told us our goods needed more packing material and sold us about $162 worth of additional paper padding and tape that they simply didn't use. They just put it in the load to charge us for it. Our most expensive items arrived damaged and unprotected. We paid over $9,000 for the move and an additional $1,040 for the loading, and another $162 for the additional padding that went unused. I called Kurt from Cowboys when the shipment arrived and we unloaded it and told him we were seeing lots of damage. He acknowledged there was damage but blamed some of it on Allied Van Lines who had moved the household items from Georgia, and said he had cataloged the damage but that we needed to go through Allied Van Lines to recover damages, and didn't receive a response until June of 2023, which is why this complaint is being filed at this time. We tried and Allied refused simply because we had Cowboys load the household items onto a third party carrier. That didn't negate the effects of Cowboys' poor handling, stacking, and loading of the household items that caused damage that we reported as being $2,750. We photodocumented everything, and think Cowboys should be responsible for at least one third of the damages plus a full refund of the $1,050 loading free for a total amount of $1,966.
