Update: On May 20, 2021, Ricky V. McLaughlin plead guilty to 1 count of wire fraud a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1343. McLaughlin was sentenced to 87 months in prison and 3 years supervised probation. McLaughlin was also ordered to pay $781,750 in restitution. On June 1, 2021 the case was re-opened on appeal.
On November 13, 2020 the United States Department of Justice, Southern District of West Virginia filed wire fraud charges with the United States District Court of Southern West Virginia against Ricky V. McLaughlin. Charges filed allege the business is in violation of federal wire fraud charges for selling individuals various Pontiac Trans Am classic cars, but refused to provide the customers with either the titles to the vehicles or the vehicles themselves. McLaughlin is also accused of selling the same Pontiac Trans Am to multiple customers or sell Pontiac Trans Am cars on consignment, but refused to remit the sale proceeds of the collector cars to the car owners. On December 1, 2020 McLaughlin entered a guilty plea to a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1343 (wire fraud). McLaughlin faces upto 20 years in prison, $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised probation.
