We contacted Mr Andrew **** for an estimate on a remodeling job after being recommended by William ****** March 28th. Mr **** met with us April 1st. We discussed the amount allotted for the project, details of what we would like to complete. Mr **** said that was very doable. There was never an agreement signed by us at any point. We felt rushed as we were leaving for our wedding and honeymoon April 13. He convinced us that waiting would do further damage. He requested a deposit of $55,620.00. Our loan officer transferred the funds so he could start immediately. He requested another $27,810.00 the next day. Which he shouldn’t have received until the roof was “Dried In”. As of April 28th the roof still hasn’t been covered or completely dried in. Mr **** submitted a change order to our bank April 12th in the amount of $23,128.10. He also submitted the same change order to us in the amount of $15,300.00. We did not sign the change order. We were out of the country with limited accessibility. When we returned April 24th we asked Mr **** for a run down as to what was spent and where. We left him with $83,430.00 came home and the roof was still not complete. We were told the roof would take 10 days. Again we got the run around. Still no signed contract or change order. We went to the property April 29th to find our keys, all the tools gone and no answers. Our building is now flooded from the roof not being completed. Our business now will be closed longer. We feel we were a small business taken advantage of by a contractor who got in over there head. We are seeking a resolution with this company and wish to not further our business relationship. We would like to be compensated for our stress, time and damages.
