    On April 5th 2022, I took my 2006b Honda C-RV to John Howerton Honda for diagnosis and repair. The issue I specifically addressed was a drivability issue involving the V-tec system on the vehicle. I am a retired certified auto mechanic, and no longer possess the tools required to do the diagnosis myself. I informed the service manager (Michael) that I had already replaced the V-tec spool valve, the VTC solenoid, and had adjusted the valves on the vehicle ( all parts were Genuine Honda Parts). He assured me that his Tech would get to the root of the problem. The next day, I received a call from Michael informing me that all parts needed to be replaced in the V-tec system, the timing guides needed replaced, and a laundry list of other repairs needed to pass state inspection totaling over $2500. I immediately went to the shop. I explained to Michael and the tech (Cheyenne) again that I was only wanting to have the vehicle diagnosed to resolve drivability issues, and again told them both of the new parts that had been replaced. I asked the tec if he had the means to test each individual part of the V-tec system, to which he answered yes. I asked him if he test drove the vehicle and he said no. I urged him to do so. He insisted that the timing guides needed replaced and stated that he would continue with a diagnosis. I agreed to the guide replacement, and was told that they would call in a few days. On April 12, My wife received a call stating that the vehicle was ready for pick up. She and my children got a ride to pick up the vehicle. She informed me that the car was not driving correctly, and the her drive home was very scary. When I arrived home, I raised the hood, and was appalled to discover that the car was not re-assembled, and had a terrible oil leak. I took pictures, then looked at my invoice (**********). I was charged $1450.78 for replacement of the entire timing system which I did not authorize. (only the guides authorized) No one is responding to my email
